What's the best fundraising website/service? e.g. Kickstarter, Gofundme or similar

Hi all
I am involved in a trust that is raising substantial funds (for a respite care house for families of kids with a disability to place overnight so they get a break)

We have registered an incorporated group, registered for abn and tax, have authority to fundraise and almost completed our tax deductible charity status (delayed by change in govt)
tl;dr - we are legit

Group would like a way for people not in our local area to donate to the cause
We have people interested from around the world looking to contribute, preferably online via creditcard

Does anyone have experience of fundraising of this nature via a service like Kickstarter or Gofundme?
Any recommendations on which is the better service and hints on setting up etc
Cheapest ongoing fees and transaction charges and best options and website etc

Greatly appreciate your thoughts
Thanks

Haven't done it before, but i do surf the sites alot.

Kickstarter is heavily technology and design based. However it has a massive user base such that if you want your project or organisation discovered by people, this may be a good place to start

Gofundme is mainly based on charitable causes. Its got a smaller user base (but a better audience since everyone isnt there for tech). But from what i heard, it has very low fees too. Specifics I don't know.

If you already have supports and the only problem is a platform for transfer of funds, Gofundme would be better.

If you are looking simply for a way to accept donations, you may be able to get away with just using your own website and setting up a payment gateway. I believe paypal lets you accept donations with no fees attached.

Kickstarter gives you a bit of marketing I guess (as people are looking for new projects on their).

    • Thanks Blockey - had thought about just accepting payments but not via PayPal
If this works out cheaper then it may serve the purpose - Will consider

There is one called justgiving.com, you set up a page, a target, people donate and can leave messages

    Pages look like this:

    • Thank you - I will definitely check it out
