  • How good when comes to warranty claims? Better than Kogan?

    • According to e-bay: -
      12 months Australian Store Warranty
Buyers can return the product to our Sydney location for warranty services.

So hopefully better than Kogan,as they wont send it overseas for repair.

      • That means the shop gives you the warranty instead of Samsung? Maybe it is good only if you are in Sydney

        • Any grey imports, shop gives you the warranty not manufacturer IMHO. may be someone can clarify here !!

  • price in title please

  • Pretty cheap, best tablet at that price and size range

  • Gah, so tempting…especially after getting the S5 :P

  • Does it include GST for TRS?

    • Not sure, but I don't think it will mate,

I bought my S3 from Kogan and it didn't have GST listed on the invoice, so I could not claim it back from TRS.

    • It's not AU stock so I doubt it.

  • +1

Was thinking of waiting for Nexus 8.

    Decisions, decisions.

    • The Nexus 8 screen definitely won't be as nice as this, the processor might be faster (most likely a 64bit processor) but no MicroSD slot and everything else will be the same. The form factor will most likely be 7.9" - 8.0".

Apart from that i think this is a better choice for the price as the Nexus 8 will probably hit Australia quite late and at a cost of about $349-399 unless you wait a few more months after it's release date it will drop fast (like all Nexus products the value drops fast)

      • This is not an OLED screen or anything. I would expect both to just be IPS screens.

My hangup with this tablet is that it's still using a dated snapdragon 800. Not shabby by any means, but that was a year ago.

Then again, we don't know much about the Nexus 8 either. If it's a 1200p or 1080p screen I don't want it. What do you think are the chances of it being 2k (1440p)?

        • It'll be 1440p, everything else about this tablet is good except for the Snapdragon 800 which is really to todays standards still bloody good but the Nexus 8 will have a better processor as for everything else this tablet is much better with expandable storage and a better screen than the Nexus lines.

You talk about OLED and IPS but the Nexus range always has washed out colour screens compared to Samsung screens. It's how they achieve the cheaper price point. Also the Nexus range has inferior cameras but on a tablet the camera doesn't really matter.

        • I decided to bite. Was a bit reluctant, still am actually but went through with it anyway.

          I'm blaming you for this.

        • Haha check written reviews and youtube videos it is quite good, it also has multi window multi tasking which i doubt the Nexus range will have anytime soon.

Only thing is when you run multi window with half brightness the battery life is quite short. The CPU won't be as fast as the Nexus 8.

But everything else is better. Chuck in a MicroSD, Yify movies, Chromecast and Plex; and you have yourself a portable multimedia system. :P

  • Do I need to pay the postage the item back to you and back for warranty claim?

  • Purchased. Thanks!

My Nexus7 (2012) is starting to show it's age.

  • When are they going to send this out… Been a few days since I ordered it now, and nothing. Ebay I'm used to people sending them out fast, even if the delivery time will be weeks. They haven't even marked it as posted yet.
