    Prices from PCCG:
    i5 4460: $209
    ASRock B85M-ITX: $99
    Gainward 750ti: $179
    CM Elite 110: $49
    Kingston Value 4GB Ram: $45
    WD Blue 1TB: $69
    Corsair VS450 (450w): $55
    Total: $705

Guess the pricing isn't so bad if you consider it includes free shipping and assembly…

      don't forget about the 8gb USB :)

        And the controller

    • MSY prices are slightly cheaper:

      i5 4460: $209
      ASRock B85M-ITX: $95
      WD Blue 1TB: $64
Coolermaster RC-120A Elite (more features than the 110): $44

Guess the pricing isn't so bad if you consider it includes free shipping and assembly…

Yeah but there's an MSY in every major city and I would go out on a limb and say a majority of folks on here could put a PC together quite easily.

A $70 dollar saving is worth the the day it'll take you to read up on system building and to put the components together if you're a total novice. (A few hours if you have any intuition and follow instructions well).

This build price is exactly at, if not slightly over, current market value. It's neither really good nor really bad.

      • Elite 120 has more features, but it's also almost twice as large. Elite 110 is designed for more compact builds.

      John Steamos approves this deal

  • i'm thinking of getting a new budget comp:

is the deal here comparable to:

    CPU: Intel Pentium G3420 $79
    Mobo: ASRock H81M $72
    RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Patriot-S DDR3-1600 $85

    Case+PSU: Thermaltake Versa H21/H22 w/ 500W PSU $78
    ODD: DVD-RW Drive $20
    Peripherals: [ 21.5" 1920x1080 / Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 / Logitech LS21 2.1 ] ($169)

    Total: $538 ($707)

    or this
    CPU: AMD FX-6300 $138
    Mobo: ASRock 970-PRO3 R2.0 $88
    RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Patriot-S DDR3-1600 $85

    Peripherals: [ 23" LG 23EA53V-P / Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 / Logitech LS21 2.1 ] ($229)

    Total: $762 ($991)

since its a mini gaming pc deal will it run games like CSGO better?

    any computer experts here? :)

Go with the latter build. As is the oft-repeated maxim; a majority of the money should be going to the GPU in a Gaming PC.

The R9 270 is a significant step up from a GTX 750/GTX 750 Ti and the AMD FX-6300 is a much better CPU.

If the second build is too steep, I would at least swap out the GTX 750 in the first with a R9 270. But if you source from MSY you should be able to shave at least $100 dollars off WhirlPool's total (which are often out-dated prices).

      • Not sure how you'd cut $100 off either of those builds without losing quality or performance. That's more than $10 per parts.

It's a rough guess but usually when I see WP's PC Suggestions and tally up my own prices I manage to knock off a good $50 to $60 just by finding cheaper vendors.

If the budget is absolutely set in stone then you're going to be buying locally anyway; so there's no need to look at PCCG (which is where WP sources its prices from) as the shipping and surchages will blow out the price by a hundred something.

        • thanks for the help,
i'll trust this Whirlpool guide :D

          i guess i wont get OP's deal
but it looks good if you're after a small mini computer harddrive!
