used to be $2.95 registered postage, even on their website it says $2.95
However when I went in yesterday they charged me $3.50 for registered post sticker.

a lot of other mail fees have increased too such as regular parcel post, $7.20 from $6.95
A lot of these price increases are not even listed on their website too..
any other mail services we can use instead of Auspost?

Unfortunately, it seems that AusPost seems to be the cheapest out of the other courier type services.
The price is probably going to go up even more if it gets privatised (likely to happen soon).
I think the registered post labels went up a while ago.
If you think you're going to use a lot, it's cheaper buying by the box.
AP is still the cheapest for a lot of domestic (though some couriers cheaper for parcels).
Skippy Post is often decent prices for international parcels - even for some areas AP won't post insured to.

basically they charge 2 different rates for parcels and letters, it used to be the same price… shame!!!!!!!!!!
Registered mail service only applies to letter rate. It's been $3.50 for some time (over 6 months at least) as I have been posting 10-20 items a week since last November. Letter rate has to fit in a letter box (about the size of a DVD case). Signature on delivery for parcel post is still $2.95. It used to be called registered mail for both type of services (letters and parcels and was $2.95) but this changed quite some time ago.
It's been like this for a few months already. If you are posting a lot better buy the box of 50's as it comes out cheaper per piece.

however I was a bit confused as I post about 10 letters for my work every week and they used to charge me $2.95 for registered post labels , now it's jumped to $3.50
On their website it still says $2.95… no mention of the $3.50 price
either way I think Auspost is getting ripped off… even stamps cost 70c now.
basically everything they post increased in price. .. letters , parcels.
I want to find some cheaper alternatives to Auspost and hope other members could share with us
