Reporting a company for shipping batteries with not enough protection?

Hi, I recently bought from CamerasDirect and I just received my item, but these guys skimped on protection for the items during shipping, my batteries CRACKED IN HALF.

I'm so relieved that they didn't explode or anything. reflector I bought has a hole in the middle and the frame has also torn and the metal has bent out of shape.

I've never seen such bad packaging in my life, international or domestic.
They just wrapped it in about one layer of plastic bag, taped it up and that was it.
batteries were in a really thin box that low looks like it has been run over by a car.

Is there any organisation I can report to for shipping batteries in such a manner?
Is this not dangerous?

You should probably start off by contacting the company. Take some photos, comment that the way they had sent them is unacceptable, and as a result damage has occurred. Ask them how they intend to remedy you.

If they cannot come to agreeable remedy, then you're best off to lodge a complaint with the NSW Department of Fair Trading.
