looking for a router <$20. the faster the cpu the better (in my case, cpu performance does matter) and it has to be compatible with dd-wrt or openwrt or the like.
had a dlink dir-615 but lost it while moving :S
any input is appreciated!

thanks for the offer but the E1200 is a little underspec'ed (300mhz MIPS) for what I'm after. but if i dont find anything you'll definitely get a PM from me :)

i dont mean to be picky, im open to 2nd hand routers and such. the dir-615 was actually selling for 2 for $20 inc delivery at one point at mwave.
the reason why processor speed is important is because it will be handling AES-CBC-256 (openvpn) decryption. 300mhz at full load will barely handle 5mbps, which really reduces its usefulness.
the WD N750 would be a dream come true at $20 :p

I have a used Linksys E1200 that is just sitting idle. If you're around the Southeast suburbs (Oakleigh) of Melbourne I'd be willing to sell it to you for $20. It'll just be router and adapter though. I dont have the box, cables or any literature for it.
p.s: Oh I installed DD-WRT on it as soon as I got it, its not running the Linksys firmware.
