My Eastbay Experience

Keeping things short, I purchased a bunch of things from eastbay 20% off + 15% cashback (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143950) on the 12/5/14. I get an email confirming my order and everything seems all good. Shortly after, on the 16/5/14 I get am email saying:

"We have received your return merchandise. Upon receipt of your
return, your PayPal account has been credited. Please contact our
Customer Service at 1-800-628-6301 for assistance. Thank you."

No idea what happened, I did the online chat service to find out there was an issue with my order. First they said the item didnt get very far and that ill need to replace the order. Then they said the order never left the warehouse. I am still puzzled to this day exactly what happened as I still have nfi. I asked for free shipping since there was an issue with my order that was no my fault whatsoever, and they denied. Whatever.

Anywho, I was told that the new order I placed would need to go through without a code, and that theyll adjust the invoice on the new order so that the difference would be refunded onto my card. Went ahead and put through the order.

In the end, I got my order, $0.02USD less that the original invoice price. Semi doubled dipped in the ebates discount, which meant that "cameron_les" double dipped on my purchase too. I made like $0.40 AUD through the exchange rate exposure because the USD went up as the refund was put through.

Customer service and communication was good, except none of them could tell me what exactly happened in the first place. I did not need to wait at all at any times for the online chat. They got back to me quickly and I was happy in the end. The package was posted out on the 21/5/14 and got here on the 23/5/14. They left the package on my porch which I didn't know they did without my authorization, but I wasn't fussed. The refunds came through pretty much the next day, so no issues with money being held in short term money markets (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/145293). Didn't go as smoothly, but im happy in the end.
