Never had a look at Wii U mic-jack. Does this work with other devices with normal 3.5mm jacks as general purpose headphones?

    cleared out the last 2 of these today @ my local EB.
    
    the sound quality is pretty bad. the on/off mic slider is in the opposite direction to what it should be. i don't even understand why they made it a slider when it's just on or off. the circular button looking thing is not even a button and serves no purpose. cable length is 1m
