Dodo Unlimited ADSL Line Rental with Xbox One + Titanfall + 25 months Gold Subscription

Hi guys, I've done a search to see if this topic is available and couldn't find it. Forgive me if someone has already discussed this.

This plan seems to be ok. I called them and they are willing to give me a one month discount to come on over, however I need to install a new line which isn't a problem. I have a line with Telstra with Dodo internet already on it.

Anyway I am pretty happy with Dodo unlimited internet. Now and then it slows down or cuts out, but over all not bad for unlimited. Its time for me to buy an Xbox One now. I am going for surgery thats going to keep me home for 6 months so I might as well.

The question is, is this deal worth it? Its $99 for 24 year contract. I am currently paying $50 per month for Dodo Internet. I can cut the Telstra line no problem without penalty (no contract left).

I will get unlimited ADSL, line rental (no telephone calls, which isn't a problem since i hardly use the home line) and an Xbox one with Titanfall and 35 months Gold Subscriptions.

What do all you guys think.

    Isn't this about the maths?

    new plan
    99 X 24 = 2376

    old plan
    50 x 24 = 1200

    difference
    2376-1200 = 1176 which you are essentially paying for the xbox.

    This is double the price of buying it outright?

      I am going to save $150 per month on the Telstra line.

      I am on the Entertainers Bundle with Telstra thats 500 GB Internet and Unlimited Local calls.

    Not really a deal. If you're that strapped for cash just interest free one shudder from harvey norman.

    You're spending over a $1000 bucks more on that plan

    The previous calculation was a bit too simple, here is mine.

    New plan with XBOX One + LIVE 2yrs + Titanfall
    $99.80 * 24 = $2395.2

    Old plans with Telstra homephone (I'm not sure which home phone plan you are on, so I'm doing 2 cheaper plans)
    1) Dodo+Telstra Homephone XS
    ($50+$22.95) = $72.95
    $72.95*24 = $1750.8

    2) Dodo+Telstra Homephone S
    ($50+$40) = $90
    $90*24 = $2160

    Old plan and buy XBOX One outright + Xbox Live Gold for 2 yrs + Titanfall
    $1750 (Old plan 1) + $570 (XBOX) + $150 (LIVE for 2yrs) + $50 (Titanfall) = $2520
    or
    $2160 (Old plan 2) + $570 (XBOX) + $150 (LIVE for 2yrs) + $50 (Titanfall) = $2930

    So not much saved, but you are not paying more if you go with the new plan.

      It depends on where you live. We're in a regional area and have been with them (almost) trouble-free for around 10 years. My daughter was with them in Brisbane and had problems daily.
