Oral B Triumph PC4000 Electric Toothbrush - $99.99 (50% OFF) @ Shaver Shop

31

Shaver Shop has this Triumph model exclusive at 50% off.

Great electric toothbrush with good reviews, you will find other Oral B Triumph models (I.e. IQ5000) in the market at around $149.95, mostly with the smart guide but no huge functional difference on the toothbrush.

  • I find it strange that they stopped including universal voltage on these. Not sure what they were thinking.

hey Rep, so obviously $99.99 is Not your best price for a store pick up if one can buy from your ebay store for the same price with delivery. Obviously delivery is worth a few $. This is ozbargain and not advertising.

Not to mention eBay/Paypal 12% fees!

  • Anyone ever changed the battery in one of these? Can it be done, and any links if so? Had mine for about two years now, but the charge is only holding for about 5-10 minutes.

    • These ones you can prob change it with a eneloop.
Thats what I did with my wife's one, switched it with a Eneloop Pro AA battery, runs perfectly again.

Search on youtube. Requires a desolder, then resolder, plus you'll need to find/make the custom battery. Frankly not worth it unless you are an electronics wizz.

@lplau: are you sure your wife has a Triumph 4000?

  • These things are amazing, the triumph is MILES ahead of the 5000/precision clean/etc. The smartguide doesnt seeem to add anything - the triumph already does all of that on its inbuilt display, and by switching the pulsator off if you press too hard.

The name Triumph is used across all of the range 3000/4000/5000. And the 5000 does have the press-too-hard thingy also, plus it glows red when you press to hard and stops as well. I agree the smartguide doesn't add anything but a gimmick, but to say the 4000 is better than the 5000 is not correct.

      • Smartguide is a useful bathroom clock!

Personally I would have been happy with a PC1000 model but ended up getting the PC5000 cheaper than the lowest PC1000 price I could find. Thanks to the $100 deal from Big W posted here earlier (got the last one at the 2nd store I tried).

  • According to a recent Choice magazine review, these brush your teeth exactly the same as the Oral B Vitality Electric Toothbrush that's selling for $21.64 at Woolworths. A toothbrush is a toothbrush. I think the PC4000 has a slightly faster motor, but your teeth won't notice the difference. After months of brushing, no dentist was able to detect that teeth were any cleaner after using a $200 model when compared to a $20 model or anything in between. The heads are even compatible, which means the bit that actually does the work is identical.

Can anybody think of a reason why you should pay nearly five times as much for an electric toothbrush?

Is this the same choice that gives a 9/10 product a 5/10 because of instructions a hard to read?

      • I do agree that Choice don't always have the best reviews, but in this case, nobody can tell me why a $99 toothbrush is better than a $22 one. I'm happy to concede my point if somebody can give me a good reason.

Vitality has lower oscillations and pulsation rate.

        • And no massage setting

    Cheaper delivered on ebay

    • Easier warranty at Shaver shop.

        • I see. You meant SS's ebay. But you said it's cheaper on their ebay. It's not actually cheaper, just the same price. Buy it in store if you want it sooner.

        • +1

There is no such thing as free shipping. We read it everywhere these days and it's just marketing.

$99.99 delivered from their ebay includes the product and a delivery fee.

$109.99 delivered from their website includes the product and a delivery fee.

$99.99 in store is just the product. For someone not in the store or nearby there is some cost to pick it up. It's generally not much of a cost and we're used to paying it.

I still say the ebay site is cheaper than this deal.

        • Don't assume no one is near a store. I am.

In store would be faster and cheaper for me, since I don't have to wait for it to be posted. You don't have much of a reason to neg the post just because it's available with free delivery on ebay.

But when you say "Cheaper delivered on ebay" to me it implies the alternative price delivered is less than the non-delivered price, which it is not.

        • +1

You know what they say about people who assume…I can't remember but it's something about a donkey.

Glad it works out better for you champ. Most people on here aren't near a store and probably have no issue waiting a couple of days for a toothbrush. The fact that 50% off a $200 product only managed 3 votes should give you an idea of what the majority of Ozbargainers think of the deal.

You're still missing the point but I think I've gone on about it enough.
