ADSL disconnect/dropouts from some Panasonic Phones

Hi All

For a long time i have had an intermittent problem with my ADSL disconnecting for no reason. Some days it would be mostly good, a couple of dropout a day, other times it can be dropping out every few minutes, especially during stormy weather
After putting up with it for far to many years i finally got around to doing something about it. I was looking up online the phone number to ring telstra when i saw that i could ask them to check the line though a web page.
They recommended removing my wireless phone and placing an telstra wired phone instead. Which i did. To save power i pulled the power from my Panasonic Phone
Its been three days and i have not had one single dropout
I have tired to fix this problem dozens of times, bought so many filters that my draw is full of them. Disconnected the phone rj11 from the wall socket and only had the adsl hooked up, but the problem persisted. I never tried turning the phone off when i disconnected the rj11, i didn't think i needed to
So it seems that some panasonic phone will cause your adsl to dropout unless you pull the power from it, i found a few web pages saying the same thing

  • Was it the ADSL losing sync or your Wireless connection dropping out? Cordless phones usually operate in the same 2.4Ghz range as Wireless routers causing interference.

  • wow this was an ancient issue. I remember this happening in my old house roundabouts 2009. I recall some fixed it by putting 2x filters. It was some form of interference the panasonic phones introduced to the line. I had a central filter which didn't help solve that issue. I paid almost $200 for the panasonics so what I did was I installed a MINITAR VOIP unit and used it via that.

  • the adsl was losing sync, sometimes just the internet light would go off, other times the DSL and internet light would go off on the modem
My filter(ACS 921E2+ Central Filter(ADSL2/2+) is a certified & compliant filters, but it did not fix the problem
