Nootropics, have you tried them, recommendation?

Thinking about getting some nootropics like modafinil, to help me stay awake and more focused.
Was wondering if any of out there have any experiences with nootropics?
And, if you do whether it's safe to put your real address, thinking about getting a PO box or Parcel Locker?
Looked it up on whirlpool already and they recommended using Onemedstore or modup.net

  • I don't have personal experience with nootropics but from what I have read the effects vary from person to person and depend on the specific nootropic. Some people swear by them but use caution when taking them. I suggest reading up on specific nootropics and to read the accounts people have recorded. Some people have reported feeling as if they've taken too much and had episodes, while others describe feelings of withdrawal.

Just a word on modafinil, it isn't a nootropic and because it's an S4 drug in Australia, you will need a prescription.

    Best of luck.

Hi, one of the modafinil analogues/isomers was recalled during FDA testing as at 2011. Possibly provigil or even Modalert. The reason for this was some subjects reported psychosis and related psychiatric disorders triggered after use of this type of modafinil. Can remember looking at Wikipedia and thinking I was glad none of this happened to me. For some reason, this has all been scrubbed from the net!

Three years later, I can't find any reference to a specific mass halting of the trial or a recall of that formulation. There is a mention of the manufacturer having to stop all websites supplying the drug back in 2010 (google rise and fall of provigil) and references to skin problems, psychosis and abuse potential. I would recommend staying away from Modafinil (procured from the internet) without a valid prescription/medical supervision. I've used bhrami and ashwaghanda to good effect, they are legal and cheap Ayurvedic herbs. And breathing exercises can help too…

  • Started taking modafinil late last year. Modafinil made me anxious and sometimes I became robot-like. I also blame it for the cause of my IBS which I somehow got at the start of the year.

I've taken many other nootropics like aniracetam, piracetam, noopept, and many more. I found that aniracetam helped with memory. The thing is though, you don't know the concentrations of what you get for certain unless you can run tests. They provide a certificate of analysis with their products on ebay, but you never know…

I no longer take nootropics. I find that caffeine is enough. I'm still on the look out for a really good nootropic though.

I have tried both Modavigil and Modalert. Modalert is definitely stronger so I recommend it to try.
Ordered for a few times from Desiredmeds and nztdrugs, used PO BOX for delivery of my goods.

    • Where did you guys buy it from, i've done a bit of research on reddit and a lot of people praise modafinil.com , it's about $100 for 60 tablets

  • Ah man, you'll be pretty hard pressed to get that stuff into Australia, I'd recommend trying stuff like Lions Mane Mushroom combined with something like Caffiene or Reishi for energy. Theres alot of info out there on the benefits of these nootropic compounds, best thing is there wont be any import issues. Althought modafinil is good, there is a deminishing return that comes with it.

More on mushrooms can be found here from the Joe Rogan Podcast also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XidqM2i8Js&t=181s
