LPG Consumption

I have got Ford Falcon with factory fitted LPG system and it's fuel consumption seem to be very high.

I only drive around the Sydney Inter west area and it's costing me 25.9L/100KM but I think it should be around 20L/100KM.

Is there something I could do to reduce the consumption?

My old Prado gets 17.8l/100km. Sounds like something is pretty wrong. I would have expected you would get around 12l/100km.

    • Agreed..
Our Magna does no worse than 14L/100 in heavy stop start traffic.
      About 11L/100Km in the country.

If it's an EcoLPI Falcon, you should be seeing close to 10L/100Km.. ie pretty much the same as petrol.

      • What year model is your car?

        • 2005

        • is that dash reading or calculation from actual?

        • Multiple calculations from multiple trips filling at the same pump as a general rule.
Running well inflated Ecopia Tyres which has improved Fuel Efficiency marginally.

  • I had 93 Falcon and I was getting around 14l per 100k so well worth getting yours checked out. Have Aurion now and getting 11 from that.

Direct injection or on top of carby?

  • Fuel consumption depends a huge amount on how you drive. Are you an aggressive reactive driver or someone who looks ahead in traffic and accelerates / coasts accordingly?

    • I am not aggressive driver.

I tend to accelerate according to traffic.
