Power voltage

I'm looking at buying an electronic tabletop drumkit from america and it uses dc 12v power with american 110.

I assume the power cable included is what is 110v rather than the actual drumkit itself..?

To use it here would I just need to buy a dc 12v power cable like this (but with the correct side adaptor and amp)

It's possible the power pack is universal and will work on 110 or 230 and you just need a mains plug adaptor. Otherwise proceed with your plan. Any 12V power pack with the same or greater current capacity and polarity (though that is seldom an issue) will do.

There are many plug types at the low voltage side, make sure you get the right one.

  • Whilst not a sparkle, would you need to have in the power lines a power breaker in case of surge, power outage, or other nasties. Just asking,

    • No

  • Check the power requirements before purchasing a replacement PSU. The one you linked is 12V2A (24W) and may not be enough for the device. Last time I bought a PSU it was a bunch of 5 12V5A (60W) units. Also decide if you're willing to risk your new drumkit with a cheapo PSU from ebay. I haven't personally had any issues but I've seen some tear downs showing what could happen due to poor design/manufacturing of cheaper supplies.
