**CLOSED** Driving lesson - pay full in cash, the teacher not responding, what should I do?

Hi all, i really need some advise here. Basically here is what happen. I booked and pay cash package lesson for driving lesson (3 hours lesson and a test) . I paid the money in cash to the teacher on our first lesson. The first lesson was back in January and it was for one hour. That time ,the teacher told me that she will be on holiday until end of may. She told me that she will be in touch when she is back to continue the lesson. She gave me her email address and contact number to be in touch. Sooo… I waited….. But heard nothing. I messaged her last thursday and she replied saying that she just back and ask for my availability. I replied straightaway that i can do saturday and sunday. Then she stops replying me. Friday evening i messaged her again and she said she will let me know on saturday. And guess what.. I heard nothing. Im going to call the office this monday and ask for a refund. But i hope i can get some advise beforehand
should they dont want to refund my money , what else can i do? I have the receipt. Thank you all!

EDIT: I have contacted the company and they said that they also have trouble in contact with the tutor and received few complaints already. I got my full refund . thanks all

if i am right, you want a refund because she did not call you back when she said she would? , she has yet to miss a actual lesson, i think she/the company would be reluctant to issue you a refund, when if its a company they can just book you in with someone else, and its only been a day since she was ment to call you.

when she said she would be gone for so long , why did you not ask for a refund then ? its not exactly acceptable to take on a new client right when you plan to go on a 4 month holiday. if its a company , you should have made them book you in with someone else.

    • I was tring to be nice because she apologies many times regarding her being away.
The company has policy that the package is non transferable within teacher.

Uh she did say she is on holiday until the end of May and right now it is only an hour and a quarter into June. Aren't you jumping the gun a bit here? It is entirely possible she is not replying to avoid roaming charges. Or maybe because she is simply on holiday and wants to be left alone.

    • As i mentioned above, I messaged her last thursday to ask if she is back and she replied back saying she did

'I'm away until the end of May' means just that. It doesn't matter whether she was literally physically away or not - it means, 'I won't be available until June.'

Sounds like she just got back from a long holiday and wants a few extra days at home before she starts work. You have been contacting her before she even said she would be back.

She also replied to every message but just hasn't followed up and texted you what days/times are good for her, maybe she was busy yesterday and forgot or maybe she isn't sure yet if she can do Saturdays and Sundays and since it is still a week away didn't feel the need to text you so urgently.

Maybe instead of calling the company you can just call her instead of texting and decide on a date for your next lesson. Then at the end of the next lesson decide on the next date.

She probably gets back to work proper tomorrow (Monday)

If all else fails - drive yourself to the company office and demand a lesson immediately.

You should be more patient. Give her a chance! Geez

  • Pay after, not before hand when possible. If they already have your money, they don't feel as though they have to work as hard.
