Cree XP-E Q5 led bulb has a max lumen output of 250lumen, emphasis on max usually 200lm, always check with this site http://flashlightwiki.com/Cree

    • So this is 70% less brighter than advertised? Still cheap but not so appealing

      • I got a torch also with XP-E Q5…..
It is bright enough for daily use…but surely doesn't have 600 lumen..
Only the torch with xml-t6 led, xml-u2 led would have more than 600 lumen..
but still worth for this price IMHO

    • and that's assuming it is actually a Q5

Also These zoomable lenses have lower output than reflector lens, though they are very handy for close range stuff.

tl;r: it's $3.50 so one must not over think it, but just bear the above in mind so you're not expecting too much (Like the last gearbest ones) , and cetainly don't expect it to be that great for outdoors (walking etc)

Might grab one and see how it compares to the GB ultrafire (pretty crap imo). Can never have enough really.

    • Looking at the datasheet, the forward voltage is 3V typical, max 4V. Max current is 1A. That's a max power of 4W.

Also, the brightness you linked specifies about 250lm max at 1A.

Now, this product claims to provide 7W. That's about 1.75A at the max voltage, and above the max rated current, almost double. Assuming they manage to overdrive it to draw 1.75A without frying anything, I could see it putting out maybe 400lm.

Yea, the numbers look very suspect.

  • These torches are noticeably brighter on a Li-ion 14500 battery, but what else am I going to do with my drawer of Eneloops ?

    • +17

Put them in a glass cabinet display. Eneloops and torches are the pride of an Ozbargainer.

  • Can't resist at this price. Thanks OP.

  • I got two of these last time they came up. Great torch, mainly due to its brightness, how small and light it is, how it is simply ON and OFF and funnily enough the clip comes in very handy. I'd say this is the best balance between small, cheap and bright OzB's Crees.

  • Seen this a while back.. how they compare on zoom with 14500 against SK68? Tighter spot?

  • +2

Gold! MUST BUY! I have about 50 $3-4 CREE torches sitting in my drawer, but none of them are gold…

  • Got one of these from another listing on OZBargain a month or so ago and love it. Grabbed a second one. Thanks!

  • I have 21 of these, don't need anymore!

    • Tie them together with a rubber band and turn them into a super torch, the kind that you can summon Batman with.

  • +3

Damn, had to get it in gold just to compliment the black and silver ones I already have. Now can color coordinate with the eneloops!

  • Thanks, bought a few.

  • Ha ha, bought my first one, now I'm a true OZBargainer!

    • how many dominos pizza's do you eat a week?

    • And how many M500/840 EVO SSDs are you running?

  • i received mine today. doesn't seem any brighter than the other Q3s i have. the body is bit smaller though
