Off this weekend to Canberra, have the car filled and accommodation booked for the Sydney-Canberra drive.
Can any frequent out-of-towners or Canberra locals tell me where I can get the best attraction deals? Or even best spots for dinner?
We are a young childless couple, but are open to anything. We definitely want to do Questacon (I did it last time I visited and loved it).

For free sightseeing, take a drive up to the top of Mount Ainslie at night. Excellent views of Lake Burley Griffin and Parliament House!
Black Mountain lookout is great for watching the sunrise. And while you're up there, Telstra Tower gives great panoramic views of Canberra and rural ACT/NSW (since the city is so tiny). It's around $7.50 to get up the tower for adults.
Also, visit the Australian War Memorial, the exhibitions inside are fascinating and informative, and it's free entry.
