TV Wall Brackets - are these good?

Looking at getting 3 wall brackets for TVs sized 48, 50 and 65"

I want them to be able to swivel left/right and tilt up/down. I think this checks the boxes. Trying not to pay an arm and a leg but if you gotta spend more to get quality please let me know.

$42.75 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LCD-LED-PLASMA-TV-FLAT-Stretch-SW…

Weight wise I realise it's overkill, but I'd rather it that way.

And possibly this one for the 48"

$37.95 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LCD-LED-PLASMA-TV-FLAT-SWIVEL-WAL…

I used to import TV wall mount brackets as a business, make sure the back plate fit the typical stud placement of your wall (if brick veneer home) - many brackets have a wall plate that is not wide enough to straddle 2 studs and be secured by 2. A 65" TV isn't something you want hanging from gyprock alone.

    • Good point thanks for chiming in. Its difficult because I'm purchasing these mounts for a house I've not yet moved into, I was trying to purchase in advance to avoid taking unnecessary furniture ($$).

In my present house I'd need a mount at least 650-700mm wide. The eBay ones mentioned are only 450mm wide so I'm going to assume they are out (may or may not work with next house but I'm guessing not) - unless I find wider adapter brackets?

I've also been recommended to check these guys out:

For $125 this one does the job but it's quite a bit more expensive. Then I still need 2 others. http://www.selby.com.au/brackets-and-wall-mounts/lcd-led-pla…

  • Okay armed with more knowledge I've found the following two options:

From Selby Accoustics (highly recommended on Whirlpool forums): ($235 TOTAL)

    $125 http://www.selby.com.au/42-70-led-plasma-lcd-tv-slim-wall-mo…
    $55 x 2 http://www.selby.com.au/37-60-led-plasma-lcd-tv-slim-wall-mo…

    From eBay: ($185 TOTAL)
    $69 x 2 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/30-65-TV-Wall-Mount-Bracket-Full-…
    $47 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Full-Motion-LED-LCD-Plasma-Swivel…

All have bubble levels on them which may not replace a spirit level but it's better than nothing I guess.

Feel like I'm talking to myself here :)

Anyway I think I'm going with the Selby option, costs a lot more than my original plans but maybe you get what you pay for?

Now to find an electrician willing to help out, I can do some of the work but I'd like the electrical points all hidden behind tidy and that's where the experts come in.

Hopefully this thread helps the next guy confused about TV Wall Mounts :)
