  • It irks me that they quote scores and reviews from previous vintages - it's effectively POINTLESS and sloppy marketing. 2010 was a very different year from 2011, and ditto for 2012. They also don't say who the 93 point score came from. Poor form.

I'm personally avoiding 2011 and 2012 vintages for drinking now as much as possible whilst I can still get my hands on 2010. I'll then jump to 2012 unless I hear very good, solid reviews on a 2011 vintage.

    • I agree about the points for the 2011 vintage. But this is the 2012 vintage, and has been awarded Top 100 Wines Matthew Jukes and comes highly recommended by Winewise :)

lol, for another $1 per bottle and no delivery cost I think the Gunslingers 2007 will treat me just fine. :)

        • True, good deal, but that bird has flown. 2012 by all accounts a stellar year for South Australian wines in particular (http://www.winecompanion.com.au/wine-essentials/australian-v…).

        • 2012 was a good year. So was 2010. Which is why I'm focusing on 2010 for now. The wines are still available for now, and that will fade over time. Then my focus can change to 2012 which will be more readily available. ;)

As posted below, this deal is not really much of a bargain to me given the Gray's pricing and the wishy washy marketing, which is why I didn't post it earlier today.

As a comparison, Grays has this for $12.99 a bottle (sold by the 6 pack) delivered http://www.graysonline.com/retail/mwsh12-6/wine/fox-gordon-s…

Don't know about 2012 but tried a carton of their 2006 not long back and while the reviews weren't glowing I was impressed

  • 2012 is an outstanding year for South Australia (including Barossa).

    2009: 7/10
    2010: 9/10
    2011: 5/10
    2012: 9/10

this gives you some idea how good the vintage 2012 is!
