Swift is a new programming language for creating iOS and OS X apps. Swift builds on the best of C and Objective-C, without the constraints of C compatibility. Swift adopts safe programming patterns and adds modern features to make programming easier, more flexible, and more fun. Swift’s clean slate, backed by the mature and much-loved Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks, is an opportunity to reimagine how software development works.

Some Customer Reviews…

by TheFourthHero:

After reading just the first few pages, I was hooked to the simple language of Swift and wanted to read each page after the next! Great intro.

by musicfan_22:

Great intro to the new language! By far the best book I’ve read on Swift.

by Martinpagh:

I have lots of experience with the Swift Programming Language, and I can say with 100% certainty that this is the best book ever written on the subject. Good for beginners and experts alike. Highly recommended.

Always has been free, always will be free; is this really a bargain or is this more appropriate in the forums?

Also, that last review by is "Martinpagh" made me LOL; how can one have "lots of experience" with something that was only publicly released two days ago? (The only way he has more than two days experience is if he's an Apple employee — which means his review is sockpuppeting.) ;)

I've already reported it. Please see my comments in the post above. Thank you.

    • Swift is basically Obj-C made simpler. If the guy knows Obj-C well, he can say he knows Swift well. The changes aren't massive AFAIK
