    King of beers my ass!

  • +6

Such a terrible beer. How anyone could drink 12 of these is beyond me.

    • +3

Agreed it puts shame on decent beer from America like Anchor and Sierra Nevada.

      • Totally agree. OK price for a 2 for 1, but there's better beers cheaper. In fact, there's not very many worse beers. Americans would laugh at us buying their version of XXXX Gold for $18 a sixpack - you can get really good US beers like Kaboda said, for cheaper.

Not being a beer snob, just wondering why people would buy this at full price.

Please let me know where I can get Sierra Nevada or Anchor for $18 a six pack.

Yes Budweiser is shite but I'd take it over Tooheys Extra Dry all day

        Sam Adams - Boston Lager

        • Yeah, when I want to get the taste of weed and hooker spit out of my mouth.

  • Anyone know if these go on special from time to time at BWS? Would be even better if we could combine this with a regular discount.

If this is what an Ozbargain party looks like you can count me out.

        • +2

You say that now, but where else can you get 9 people drunk for $3 a head?

    • They usually don't put it on special during another special, sadly.

      • thanks for the balanced neg

        • What?

  • They sell these for $3 a bottle normally? Seriously?

12 bottles of cat's piss for $17.68? No, thanks.

  • +11

Yeah I'm not really understanding the hate for this beer, other than America's reputation for tasteless beer. And really, that came from the fact they drink so much light beer - this is the normal version. It's not wonderful but it's still a more complex and interesting flavour (drinkable but still hoppy) than Becks, Corona, Heineken, Stella, virtually all of Australia's mass scale produced beers like Crown Lager, New, Extra Dry etc.

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't budweiser brewed locally as well under license?

      • +1

Good question. I think it might be…either here or Canada. In any case, I really don't have a problem if they brew any beer under licence if they can get the taste right. Think how much is saved in transportation costs, emissions, overseas wages etc. I don't get people who drink imported mineral water when they can get the locally sourced one which is 99.9% chemically similar.

      • Miller Genuine Draft is brewed here under license. I think Bud still comes from the regular brewery in Missouri

        • probably explains why i like miller draught, yet can't stand budweiser..

      • Brewed and bottled in St Louis, USA.

    • I think the issue I have and a lot of others have is that it's not a premium beer but they're selling it at a premium price. I don't think anyone drinks lager for hops anyway, or at least I don't.

At $18 a sixpack for regular pricing it's more expensive than something like Little Creatures

    • Nationalism, most likely. I don't mind it, it is not over hopped like a lot of Aussie beers are.

    • +1

I'll agree with this. Bud is my go-to beer when I feel like a clean tasting beer. Yes it's fairly bland (but then it is a lager), but it definitely does have a nice flavour for a lager.

  • +1

Damm i thought this was for the original budweiser (http://www.budejovickybudvar.cz/en/o-spolecnosti/znacky/budw…), not the American imitation crap

    • +2

I wish it was - Budvar is mothers milk. In fact, if she still had that on tap, I never would've left her!

  • The fineprint says "photocopied vouchers will not be accepted". If that's the case, is printing out a copy of this voucher going to work?

    • Nevermind. I found the post on the bws facebook page and they tell you to print it out.

The hate for this beer is pretty funny.

I agree that it is subpar beer, but so is Stella, Heineken, Becks, et al. yet when there are offers for European macrolargers you will never hear people talking about how bad they are.

    • but stella is so nice! and makes me feel sophisticated when i buy it?

I love my Bud. Thanks OP!

    • +3

      me too.

      • boozler, I'm guessing you haven't met a drink you didn't like?

Here at Ozbogan.. We only drink VB… Everything else is cats piss. Right Jono?

    • +1

      VB = Very Best

      • +1

        VB is a good beer.

I honestly think the "bogan" mantra should be passed over to Carlton Dry, Hahn Super Dry and TEDs

        • +4

You've had a couple VBs right?

    • +1

I'd rather drink bogan beer than hipster beer. Reschs Pilsner all the way.

    • All day every day. VB. (Don't forget the worlds best ads too).

  • Only cost me $16.65 (MEL), 2@ $17 less voucher $17.34.

    • -1

      good for you

  • Didn't need to print off. They had the barcode at the register with a note saying customer will present phone or something like that. 12 beers for $18 so I'm willing to give it a crack.
Pretty sure I have tried it before but once I drink 12 in one sitting then I'm sure I will remember if it was great or crap.

Worked at my local BWS by showing coupon on phone. Full price was $17.00, but the coupon still took off $17.68 off the price of 2 sixpacks, so got them for $16.67. Cheers OP.
