eBay item never arrived but AusPost said delivered. Claim made to PayPal but no hope :(

I had won an auction from eBay in late April, the seller sent the parcel in express post but did not add up the signature option.
I kept tracking the parcel and finally when it said delivered, I was at the address on the "delivered" and received nothing.
Made a claim to PayPal and PayPal just told me the seller could provide a proof of delivery so the seller can have the money..

Separate enquiries made to auspost and got a reply with "only the sender can lodge investigation and claim for compensation" but did not talk about the parcel ie where has it gone to.

The claim case was closed according to PayPal resolution centre and I had sent email to PayPal talking about this after I got the claim result.

I think its the negligence of seller not to have the parcel signed as its a $200 item, what should and what can I do now?

What was the postage conditions or type stated in the listing? If it does not state signature it was your responsibility to request and pay extra for it. Did you even bother contacting the seller asking them to raise a dispute with aus post or did you just raise a dispute with PayPal (good luck getting the seller to help you now) ? Also, may be worth checking if your neighbours got delivered it?

    1. Well you could try to keep contacting the seller to escalate the issue.

    2. If you paid by credit card through PayPal, you could try a Charge back and give the Credit Card company all proof - only if PayPal won't resolve your issue. Credit Card companies are really stubborn when it comes to PayPal Chargeback's, but doesn't hurt to try.
