That's cheap. Thanks op. Will grab some on my way to work. These suckers never go on sale. Hopefully they are packaged for Australia and not from Asia

    • What's the difference between Australian and asian packaging?

    • +3

excuse my ignorance, why it would matter?

      • it doesnt, but if it was important enough for someone to mention it, maybe we are missing out on something?

      • +6

He might be talking about the overseas 'genuine' versions that aren't so genuine? The quality is a lot worse (the bristles are softer and the head often wobbles which makes it feel like it was just drop off) and they wear out about 2~3 times quicker (in my case anyway)

    • +1

Update us when you find out! I just don't want those "compatible" heads

  • +1

There were a BILLION of these in the shop window at Plenty Valley (South Morang, VIC).

    • +7

That's a lot to fit in the window of any shop..

        Ba Dum Tsss

  • +3

Just a note that these are the imported versions and not the new 'updated' version which you get in the regular australian packaging..

less brush bristles compared to the 'updated' versions..
(though i still bought these the other week..there was a shavershop bargain posted and these were in that catalogue)

  • +1

Thanks OP. Picked these up yesterday - they are the imported version but they are still good quality.

Can anyone comment if the 'genuine' ones on eBay are actually genuine ?
    For example, these ones:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Oral-B-Precision-Clean-Replacemen…

I presume they are not the same 7+1 that are advertised at ShaverShop?

    • +1

I've bought the 'genuine' ones on eBay and they don't last anywhere near as long, the bristles are much softer and the overall quality drop is very noticeable. I would say i go through 3 non-genuine in the same time as i go through 1 genuine…minus the quality. But that was 1 year ago so i'm not sure if they have improved?

    • +2

The only "guaranteed genuine" ones I have bought of ebay were not genuine. When I complained the seller asked how I could tell, when I explained that you could scrape the "Oral B" lettering off with a fingernail they refunded my money.

  • +1

I saw these yesterday and they looked as if packaged for some European country. I couldn't work out if they were soft heads.

I ordered the non-genuine version from e-bay just a few days ago. $8.33 for a 20 pack. I can't imagine they will be so bad, it is a pretty simple tooth brush head after all. And if they wear out sooner, who cares?

    I just ordered these:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8-Oral-B-Precision-Clean-Replacem…

Works out to be way cheaper than the posted deal.

    • +6

Works out to be way cheaper

I wouldn't say 'way' cheaper, though your chance of getting fake toothbrush heads is 'WAY' higher ;)

      • +1

Fingers crossed that i will get a genuine one.
        $17 < $35 delivered … way cheaper :)

        • +1

ummm $17< $25 so not as big a saving as you're thinking

        Larger bristles for your dollar.

Edit: Just checked, we already have one if these brushes! Why am I buying separate brushes??

        • +1

Haha yeah, a true OZbargainer!! Dual purpose brush ;)

      • puts those 'reach flip top head' commercials to a new level…

It was included in the saver shop offer.

I bought a few. They are made in Germany (at least the ones I bought). The normal Australian ones are made in Ireland.

Sold out at the shop in Perth city

Grabbed last one in Adelaide Arcade

    • +1

Incorrect they have 6-8 packs left they had some in a cupboard

      • +1

Sneaky! Well I felt like I was taking the last one at the time…

  • +1

Thanks OP, just got one from Galleries Victoria. Plenty more left in the shop

There are some "non genuine" items that you can take a risk on.

However, when it's an item that you put in your mouth you don't want to cut corners. Not all plastics are made equal. Take into consideration those consumer alerts about certain chemicals which have been found in products that are detrimental to humans.

  • +2

I got one from Galeries shop Sydney. Still plenty of them there.

  • +1

Cheers just got some from the Adelaide Arcade City store they sill have around 6-8 packs left.

  • +1

Does anyone know how they compare to the newer improved precision brush heads with more bristles? Or are they just all the same in terms of cleaning…

  • +2

Just bought and tested one. They seem to be of a lower quality to my genuine one. Also the packaging seems to look dodgy - like a chinese rip off

    Anyone else notice that?

    • +1

Yep, fakes or just really bad quality, get a refund and complain to Shaver Shop

      • Go in during the busiest hour and make lots noise. Time to wake them up.

        • Don't worry I did and also reported them to Oral B

  • I just get compatible. My teeth are in fine shape. :D

  • just get the Chinese knock offs on EBAY. It's about $5.00 for 4 heads.

  • I had a look today in the Shavershop in Melbourne CBD. I have to say they looked pretty dodgy so I decided to not get one. It looks exactly like this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Braun-Oral-B-Replacement-Clea…)

A few years ago, I bought a few packs from Ebay claiming from a Shavershop. When I received the goods, it was as identical as the one which came with my toothbrush. However the blue indicator doesn't fade. The head wobble after a few days and it got worst till there is very little oscillation at the brushes. Needless to say, I only buy brush heads at coles/woolies. Funny the feedback is mostly positive…

  • The question is if these are "grey imports" (i.e. made by OralB for other markets) or fake?

If they are fake, how come Shavershop can sell them? I can understand dodgy ebay resellers doing it but isn't it too risky for a brick and mortar shop???

    • The reality of brick and mortars trying to keep up with online shops? One could argue that everything on Kogan.com is fake - but it's reasonably priced so nevermind. But yes they may be shooting themselves (and Oral B) in the foot by stocking grey products. As long as they aren't containing products known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other bodily harm… grey is good.

    • Go to Chinatown you see lots of bootleg DVDs. I frequent there I don't know where else does. Profit > Risk better than selling drugs.

  • +1

I just tried one of the brush heads tonight, they are definitely not like the original heads, but identical to the fake ones on eBay. I'm going to try and bring these back for refund and make a complaint. Not sure how I'm going to prove all this though

    • +3

send to oral B along with receipt from shaver shop. im sure oral b/braun wont be too happy with people selling fake versions of their refills.

  • I bought from shaver shop - definitely a grey import/fake because i changed my 'brush head (with a genuine from old pack) on the same day i changed my fiances with the Shaver shop one. Comparing the two today (a month later), shaver shops is definitely fake. i think i'll buy mine from coles/woolies in the future. it's a bit disappointing and sadly i didnt keep the receipt - i wonder what the ACCC would say.

    • even if you just give braun/oral B a heads up on the activities of shaver shop. enough people complain about fakes from what is supposedly a reputable brick/mortar shop, im sure braun/oral B will act on it.

      • Fortunately for Oral B making heaps of $$$ from genuine brush head they can't be bothered to act upon these rots. Unfortunate for consumers.

        • based on that statement, nike wouldnt mind counterfeiters who copy their clothing. afterall, despite rampant counterfeiting they still manage to turn over bulk amounts of money.

fakes is more than just the bottom line, it is also the brand image at stake. if i hadnt known any better, i would have said braun refills are rubbish and short life.

    • Even without a receipt just report this to shaver shop via email or phone, they need more people to report this so it can be removed from the shelves or recalled, they should refund you since they are the only shop in AU selling this particular bulk pack.

  • Here proves the point they are fake (or poor quality), this is from China and so assume they are also made in China rather than Germany:

    http://www.gilletteru.com/product_detail.asp?id=2869&categor…

  • i returned mine 2 days back as fellow ozbargainers saying it is fake
