Gillette Fusion Power 8 Pack Blades - $19.98 @ Shaver Shop

50

Just noticed that Shaver Shop have a few deals on their website but the best appears to be Fusion Power blades (8 pack) for $19.98.

If you can't find a store with them in stock you can order online for an additional $10 delivery.

Still works out pretty good price-wise.

Also you can use Fusion Power blades in a regular fusion handle (they just cost more and are a different colour).

The deal is in their catalogue and ends 29 June. But please note that these are imported products for other countries like Ireland/Vietnam not Australia. So quality will be different.

I bought 2 packs (16 blades) of imported ones thu Catch of the Day over a year ago and noticed no issue with quality, still have a few left

Gillette Fusion Power 8pk Blades NOW $19.98

    • I've never noticed the difference in quality but I'll have to take your word for it.

    • Why would they have different qualities for different regions?

  • Are those sold at Coles/Woolworths made in Australia?

    • Yes sold at Coles/Woolworths, also Chemists and most other stores, obviously not at this price tho

      • +1

Actually, no, they are not always. I bought a 4 pack yesterday from Coles and they are in fact made in Germany.

        • Checked the pack I bought from Woolies a couple of months ago and they are made in Germany too. Seems pretty standard.

Thanks OP, best deal I've seen for them in a while

you have "order online for an additional $10 delivery"

It says $5 delivery (for me in WA) on their Ebay store

For anyone using the cheap/est multi-pack razors (like I used to) these are f'n awesome, I use to get like two goes out of the cheap ones before they'd get rusty and start giving bad shaver rash etc, have to toss it and grab another etc.
My bro put me on to these a few years back, I get "min" 12 shaves out of each razor (savings) and never had shaver rash or ingrown hairs etc since.
Also (for young guys without a Dad to teach them) if you suffer from shaver rash I recommend using a "sensitive skin shave gel" and use aftershave straight after shaving which prevents infection/bacteria etc

Always believed razors are expensive for what they are however compared to all the things women "have to" purchase us blokes get off pretty easy.

  • I bought a pack of these during a previous sale, which appeared to be the German version. I found these to be inferior to the ones sold locally - the 'gel' portion of the blade was set and didn't lubricate (too old?) and overall the cut wasn't as smooth as normal.

I wouldn't buy these again, but maybe I just got a bad pack.

    • I never rely on the 'gel' portion of the blade, thats what shaving gels for.

I'd find it hard to believe they'd bother making/supplying different quality blades under the same trading name however even if they do using these is always gunna be better than using the tight-arse rusty after one shave cheap multipack disposable ones I used to use

      • Agreed on both counts. And to be fair, after about a week (where they feel sensational and the blades are super sharp) the feel of these is probably quite similar to locally purchased ones.

For reference, I usually replace blades about once a month - it's amazing how much additional longevity the power feature adds.

Hey guys just a word of warning I bought these last week thinking they were a steal but they are nothing like the local ones which I regularly purchase at Chemist Warehouse
The blades just aren't as sharp. It's hard to describe but I don't get the same shaving experience.
The difference is so significant I'm going to just throw them away.

    • I was tempted to do the same, but I'm too cheap!

  • Just to prolong the blades sharpness and overall the whole razor..>

Stick them in a bag of color silica beads($4 for 500gms from ebay and you will need approx 100 -200 gms to do this) as soon as your shaving is done. Rust is caused due the mositure and water droplets that is left behind.

COlored beads are good indicator to show when the beads have retained full moisture so thereafter you can dry them out to re use it again. Hence the color coding beads.

Can assure u, ur razor blades will last way longer than usual ones. Try it.

just 2 cents worth of advise from my end.

    • I'm very interested in trying this, but the cheapest silica beads I could find on eBay were these ones.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FINE-SILICA-GEL-DESICCANT-MOISTUR…

Any idea where I can get them cheaper? Don't mind if they come from HK or whatever.

      • Whilst I can't be fragged as they last pretty long anyway, but another option to prevent rust after use is to put it in a small glass/container with some olive oil (or similar) in it.

      • I do have the seller details somewhere - will try to dig it.

but if you have this store called Daisho (japanese op shop where everything is for $2.50) you can get a big jar of silica dehumidifier as well.

rip open the cover and jst use it as an open container.

@linoc66 - i did try this way before but sometime spilled the oil container and hence stopped using it. Becomes messy at times.

  • I have been buying the Gillette Fusion blades in the 4 packs from ShaverShop for quite a while. (the standard, not the Pro Fusion that vibrates or whatever).

I walked up to the counter with 3x 4 packs of the standard blades, and the chick pointed out it was cheaper to buy 2x 8 packs of Pro Fusion and the "blades are compatible".

So on her advice, I did that. Got home, and after 3 shaves with a normal Fusion handle, it was so dry and rough it was almost tearing my skin.

Took them back and swapped them over for the 3x 4 packs ($4 extra) and the guy apologised and said the girl who sold them to me was new and she didn't know that in order to get a proper shave you need the right handle.

So if they try to tell you that the Pro Fusion blades are compatible with the standard Fusion handles, be wary.
Since having the new standard Fusion blades I have used the same blade all week with a 6 month old handle and am getting a perfect shave every day.

+1 for the deal if you have the Pro Fusion handle though.

You can get 100 (yes, one hundred) double-edged safety razor blades for around 18 dollars delivered. Sometimes going old-skool is so much better than new-skool. Cutting your hair shouldn't cost this much.
