Find me a good Internet Service Provider - cheap, fast, and good download quota

Hi all,

I've finally off contract with iiNet so I have a chance to consider other internet service provider.

Last experience with iiNet was pretty good (had the NakedDSL deal for $89.95 for 40/60GB download). It was a fast connection but I think a bit too expensive.

Anyone had good experience with other ISP?

Any help is appreciated. :)

Suspect you would get more replies over at Whirlpool in the "Choosing an ISP section."

If you are used to Naked DSL check your phone number at http://adsl2exchanges.com.au/ to see who else has their own equipment in the exchange thus bypassing Telstra infrastructure and hopefully offering a better deal/quota.

Broadband Choice http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/ is also an essential tool in narrowing down the options.

Let us know how you go.

    Edit: Typo

  • Agree you should read up on Whirlpool.

Word of advice though - if your after Naked ADSL 2+ and are tech savvy, you cant beat exetel for cost vs download limits (and included bonus')

Note: Make sure exetel are available at your exchange and your not too far away from the exchange.

  • exetel - I signed up in may and have been happy with the service and quota - no dramas. Saw an ad for the big kahuna this week though which I think is iprimus, which seemed like a better deal though - but I didn't read the T&C's

  • Definitely ask about it on Whirlpool — but since you ask on OzBargain I assume that you want something really cheap :) I use Exetel and found its no-frills service great and cheap. I have been pretty much recommending their Naked ADSL plans (reselling Optus) whenever someone asks me about broadband.

  • Have been browsing around the whirlpool. From there and this site, Exetel is definitely a better deal compared to iiNet!

Thanks for the help! Will try signing up.

Btw do they provide good service in WA too?

  • Usually you only have a choice of a few, whoever is local to you. At least that's how it is in the U.S.
