So it's like a psycho ex on your wrist?

I don't get how these new expensive glorified pedometers are suppose to help you get healthier at all. Just get off your arse and get active ffs.

If you are not motivated in any way what you end up is another expensive gimmick on your shelf collecting dust.

They trigger a self-competitive urge in a lot of people - they're constantly motivated to hit a goal or set a new one. If you're not someone who's naturally active, that extra nudge can be enough to get you moving.

But, yeah - if you're active enough that you don't need one then don't buy one.

      • how well you’ve slept each night.

which as an insomniac that has always struggled with quality sleep, is what interests me.

i almost grabbed one the other day when they were $49, but im just not sure how they work etc and dont wana throw away money on a glorified pedometer

        • I heard someone say their (?fitbit) recorded them lying still in bed for an hour as sleep, so I dunno how accurate the sleep monitor is. I'd have thought it would need to monitor at least 1 or 2 of noise/pulse/breathing to accurately detect sleep

  • This thing doesn't tie in to any of the major activity-tracking websites - and if it works and makes you more active, that's something you're going to want - and it looks like it only syncs with your PC when you plug it in.

Given that there are brand-name competitors at around the same price point, that do sync wirelessly (and the less effort it takes to use something, the more likely it will be used) you'd be better off going with one of those.

  • Aldi had /has GPS model although much dearer you may pick up one at a reduced price look in the glass box. It does not sleep track but I needed it for heart rate monltor to start with. Then it a gift to hikeing family member.
Still, I am looking at fitbit flex, up, or the one seems the best the is basis + but is only supported in USA . If there is a way to check life data with sleep, and heart rate and not buy i-pad/phone would like to know. Or use the us system from here. Android, and windows 7 user am I.

  • Can anyone suggest a better model/brand?

  • so much post, such content, so greatness wow

    • i haz reply to myself
