I'm receiving a 120gb slim PS3 as an offer from optus and have no clue how much they're worth new nowadays. Would be looking to flog it off on gumtree/ebay and not sure what a reasonable price to offer it for. I remember ps3's being around $200 now all i can see is 350 at jb/eb albeit not a true price since no one would really be after one as much as the ps4 is out.

Go to ebay and search for them, then go to the list of commands down the left-hand-side and click on the box marked 'completed listings'. Ebay will then display all the PS3s sold recently through them, and more importantly, how much they ended up selling for. This is the best information you could possibly have when wondering how much to list an item on ebay for. Or on Gumtree. Personally I'd go for Gumtree with 'pick-up-only' as opposed to messing around with ebay/postage, because, well ebay are #%@#$ to sell on these days (peeps wrought the bidding with inflated bids followed by requests for cancellation on the final day of the auction, the fees are high etc.).
I've bought and sold stuff on Gumtree numerous times (always via pick-up, not postage), and have not had any problems so far.

Before selling it you should check the firmware and if it's 3.55 or below then you can $200-$250 easy since people buy them to play pirated games. It most likely will be below 3.55 since 120gb version is pretty old now but still check.
But if you turn it on to check the firmware then it's no longer a brand new PS3 & you will lose value immediately.
A "used" PS3 with <3.55 will sell for more than a new PS3 with >3.55. I am 100% sure it will be below 3.55 since the 160gb/320gb PS3s can get 3.55 firmware.
I'd be interested in buying it, if you were to sell it for $150-$200 as I need a new PS3 asap
