You need to be more precise.

What do you include in grocery? Just food and drink? Or do you include other housekeeping exenses like dishwashing liquid and insect spray?

I'm assuming that you are not including meals eaten out, but what about prepared foods like a take-home roast chicken?

  • yeah that basically includes everything bought from coles/safeway and meat stores. don't usually buy take home chickens but is included if i did

I'm only buying for myself and the cat, but the 150-200 I specified includes everything, like groceries and meat, but also soap, catfood, toothpaste etc. $200 is the max I would ever spend in a fortnight. I think you're doing well only spending $110 pp

  • Well, my mother spends around $300 for a family of 5 per week.

Dont know whether this is reasonable to you guys but it is to too much to me.

  • 5 people here. grown adults. only 600/month.

I know this because we go costco once a month for $400 and few visits to coles/woolies for variety/specifics

  • Family of 4 (1 toddler,1 infant) and we spend $320-$400 per month on groceries. 70% of our groceries are bought at Aldi. the majority of cost comes from protein/meat and the purchases are predetermined with similar items purchased every week. Prices have definitely gone up a great deal over the past 5 years, so bulk purchases are a necessity.

Oops, misread the exact question in the poll. I should have clicked on $100-150 per person per month.

    Does the title need clarifying?

  • For the OP, $110pp per month? That seems impossible. I feel I eat that much in a week. What do you eat?

  • $110pcm is only $3.67 per day! If you live off a pack of super noodles every day then I guess it's possible!

Me & my partner spend probably in the region of about $400-450pcm combined and for what we get, is proabbly about as low as we can make it. This includes our cat (Around $60pcm), organic meat & daily juicing (So a lot of veg/fruit!)

  • what? your expense is so low?
Even I cook almost everyday also cost me 300+ for all foods and other miscellaneous stuffs.
what type of expenses have you included in your grocery?
