Got hit and run car park in Gladesville KFC

Dawn! Last night at KFC Gladesville. My car got scratch and dent by hit from another car.
They didn't left any note and gone. The damage across from the back wheel though the whole back door!
I only found out this morning! So angry and upset. Just want to post if there're any ozbargain witnesses last night.
Very sad for the whole morning. Only gets a little bit better once I got some washing liquid sample on Chatswood street.

That is very unfortunate. Have you tried speaking to the KFC management to see if they possibly have anything on camera? That might help you identify the car if it is caught on camera.

  • I had a similar situation at Chatswood chase car parking, however since I drive call only on weekends, i noticed the dent only next week. Unforunately Police said they do not bandwidth to look into this kinds of issues, and asked me to go to insurance for claim.

  • Car parks are usually private property, I doubt there is much that can be done anyway. Pretty sure all car parks are enter at your own risk.

    • That's so that you can't sue the organisation for damage to your car. It doesn't apply to other drivers.

If there's footage and you can get a registration. You can file a police report and get the other party details. Once you get the details, you can lodge a claim without paying an excess and without losing your no claim bonus

  • Good Luck OP
Hopefully there's some CCTV from KFC (or surrounding businesses? In SA so don't know area)

  • The cctv only in the shop and only part of outside, it was also to dark to identify any number plate… seems need spend over $1k for fix this time….. damn. .. The whole back door is scratched and a lot of dent. very bad luck.
My car only get fixed a hit and run 3 weeks a ago. Another within a month….. last time is not that bad, Fix with below $300. This time will cost a lot more. If go though insurance it cost $750 excess and reduce a level of low claim discount…..

  • you have our sympathy, oZB is all about savings and you just got screwed royally and it happens every day to us all…

personly, you might wanna concider leaving it if its not important for safety, after a while they leave you alone and feel sorry for you

what sort of car is yours?

    • A Silver colour A4.
It is very ugly if left those black mark and dent along the back door.

When I was a kid, my Dad used to always park a long way away from everyone else, and walk the extra metres. I thought he was paranoid.
Now I do the same thing. Too many a$$holes who can't park these days.

That doesn't guarantee that morons won't damage your car though.

I've seen plenty of absolute rubbish drivers purposely park far away from other cars simply because they can't actually park themselves in a spot between other cars. Just last week there was a woman driving a brand new Camry, shiny like it just came off the showroom floor, spotless etc. She could not drive the thing. Crawling along, turning terribly, taking ages to park in a spot that had no cars anywhere near her.

On my way back after shopping, I passed her car again. It was still there but this time other (nice new) cars had parked around her.

I'd hate to see her try and maneuver her way out without smacking into someone elses nice new car lol.

So many incompetent drivers out there, it's amazing.
