  • Self emptying Robot? Not on the carpet I hope!

  • Once when I step on the poor thing accidentally, it's gonna squeal last time, silently, error, error! And never see it's charging base again lol.

For those who are not familiar with self emptying, here is the link for the video

    • was hoping it just ejected the dust in the corner or something :(

      • WTF, you mean it dosnt learn to open my front door, run its self out to the trash bin, levitate while opening the lid of the trash and empty its self there?

pffttt and you call yourself a smart robot…

or just empty the contents into little "poop bags" it leaves lying around the house. That would be cool.

I will stick to my Neato XV21

We have his smaller brother, cleaning the kitchen at the moment. Wife loves it, said it was a waste of money that it wouldn't work well but since turned around on that!! The kids love him to they call him Garry. Helps the oldest keep her room clean and the cat entertained..

i think you got a cross dressing robot… all robot vacs, just like all ships, are female… who else would come to your house and vacuum for you for free?

/me puts on flame proof suit

  • Love to see these top of the line robots vacs in a clean off. They are expensive, and in our individual homes it would be great to see how they behave, real world.

  • I am impressed to see how much dust it collected in the first go. Self emptying was amazing. When I pick the Aldi one last Saturday I thought that was amazing. It is no where comparing to this one with lithium battery and intelligent mapping & I don't have to empty the vac every day.

Nothing short of Amazing. Now only if you can train the little guy to mop wet areas, take the garbage out,
prepare lunches, brush the toilet and leech the next episode of GOT. Then lifes complete.
      Cant wait for robosuk MK2.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up or not: I understand these bots are great for dust and hair etc, but how does it handle stuff like dropped food bits or some liquids? I did see a while back one bot managed to smear a nice load of poo around a house haha.

    • +2

you can watch youtube videos if it in action. I don't think any vaccuum cleaners (except wet&dry vaccuums) suck liquid.

      • Thanks cereal guy.

Yea, didn't expect it to such liquids or anything. I expect more smearing in the meantime while the companies soak up the money before more useful bot revisions.

        • No problems

These robots are limited by battery, so they'll never have fantastic sunction, and will rely on the spinners to "scoop" up dust. imo a pure suction vacuum won't exist for a long time.

I'm surprised that they havent built a robot vaccum that runs off the mains yet. Some mine vehicles (warning shitty photoshop) automatically recoil/release power cord as the vehicle moves - this is slow speed though

Would be fun seeing them vacuum stairs from the top only to come home and see them on their back turtled.
Practical in some cases but a passing fad nonetheless .

    • +3

The iRobot ones have a floor sensor - they won't fall down stairs/manholes/the pit where you keep your victims.

Amazing. I guess you'll have to walk him down one step at a time, vacuuming away. What will they think of next?

  • I bought the model down from this one from GoodGuys on special (~$400), works great.
Gets about 90% of all areas, good for leaving running overnight to pick up my dog's hair (golden retreiver/labrador… sheds every day..)

  • Been looking for a robot vac for my sister, (house warming present), out of the VX-21, This guy, and the iRoomba 880, which would be best to get?

  • ThinkI must go to my local library and read Choice article before deciding.
