ACCC takes action against Jetstar and Virgin for drip pricing practices

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until August to see how it all goes. It's a shame that the foreign-operated domestic services by the same companies (e.g. Jetstar Vietnam) may never change.

    Although in fairness in this situation, their competitors eg Scoot, AirAsia. Tiger do the same.

    That said hopefully the ACCC does succeed here with their action on the domestic operations

    So if it's (partially) about charging a booking fee if paying by CC I wonder how Qantas avoided being included.

  • I bought a Jetstar ticket the other day and paid with POLI. It crashed out, taking 45 minutes to sort out if I actually had a ticket!

    I think if the fee-free option is unworkable, then they definitely should be including the cc transaction fee in the base fare price.
