How was your Vodafone unlimited data experience?

Just thought I would make a thread for how people's experience on this Vodafone unlimited data weekend was from Friday 20 June 2014 11:59pm to Monday 23 June 2014 3:00am

Were the speeds fast or slow?
Was it reliable?

and any other comments.

  • Found it reliable but marginally slower than usual, which is better than I'd anticipated.

My data usage for this month is amusing, with steady usage building up to this weekend then it just sky rockets with a current 800MB usage for these last two days.

  • same as normal, the only difference was I didnt bother monitoring my usage this weekend and I tethered a lot.

  • just got past the 100gb mark so cant complain
Was a little annoying having to reset after every 2gb but hey its free

  • Currently just over 50GB on my 3G GS3. If only I had 4G, my god. My rationale for not buying the 4G version was when on Earth would I ever need 4G on a plan that is only 1GB/month. My typical usage per month is 300MB - 700MB.

I noticed that overnight it was very sneaky, had to toggle the tether tick on and off every hour or so to keep the data flowing.

Played those top 40 playlists on youtube on bluetooth in my car. Probably used 1GB doing that.

    • Wait how'd you download that much? Are you just tethering to computer? Otherwise do you just store it on your phone thent ransfer it off, repeat download? Or external expansion?

  • Thanks for all your comments guys, I really appreciate it.

  • Was tethered pretty well all weekend - was slowish but cant complain as it was free.

Dont know if anyone else was having issues but None of my family were able to send or receive MMS on saturday/sunday morning.

  • Found it fine. Spent most of the weekend on 4G. Dropped to 3G for a couple hours on Saturday.
Ended Saturday at 38GB down (tethered to PC)1.5MB to 2.5MB while downloading for the most part.
Was busy Sunday so didn't get to do anything. =(

  • From here

Between midnight Friday and 3am Monday, Vodafone said its customers consumed 590 terabytes of data nationally - twice as much compared to the weekend before. In layman's terms, consuming 590 terabytes is the equivalent of downloading roughly 98 million songs or streaming 393,333 movies.

  • Great testing method from Vodafone to Stress Test their network infrastructure. my 3G connection was not too fast and didn't use it much.

  • Definitely my worst experience
    I got 2 accounts (mobile+tablet)
    Worked beautiful with both
But suddenly I got overspent of $100
Mostly within two hours frame 21-23.00 last night
All of them are around 100mb block each
I didn't even use my iPad that time
At home and wifi is on
Been using this plan for 4 months with no issues
Called the call centre, no product knowledge and promised me his manager will call me tomorrow afternoon
    The mobile account is fine
