    Down from $600..

Bought 5 things… apparently I saved $1024, not that I would ever pay full price for Sheridan

  • Not bad. Will buy a bed sheet and store it till I move houses.

  • I saved $541.90 on two king sheet set :)

  • Thanks

  • Thanks!

Just bought a new King Size bed, this is perfect.
Didn't understand the discount comes at checkout…. so wasted heap of time clicking around.

Saved $541.90, like most went for the 500TC

  • Cheers, Been hanging out to buy some new King Sheets and Quilt cover :)

  • +1

Just checked that that Quilts also, not just covers, has the same discount.

  • Am I missing something? All quilt covers seem to be priced over $100

    • The front page image says "discount will be applied in shopping cart".

  • Woo! just bought a new bed frame and about to buy a new mattress.. perfect!

Excuse my ingnorance, but what do you need to make up a set? Quilt cover, sheets and pillow case? Or do they sell complete sets?

    • The quilt cover I just bought from Sheridan included 2 matching pillow cases so just sheets and quilt cover could make a set.

ps If this deal is perfect for you, go ahead and give it a +ive

    • If you're getting a quilt cover then you don't need "sheets" - you need a fitted sheet to go on the mattress.

That depends on whether you want to be washing the quilt cover weekly, I guess.

Dunno how I didn't see this today… Sitting on my fat arse in the call centre I work in, I'm normally checking ozbargain 10 times a day… All the 500tc quilt covers are gone :'(

  • What's the secret to a good bed? Should I invest more in quilts or quilt covers? (In terms of comfort rather than aesthetics)

    • Invest in both, one keeps you warm, the other keeps you comfortable.

  • I can't understand why they are so expensive, and for only 500TC. My 1000TC egyptian cotton sets I buy from ebay are excellent quality, one is now 7 years old & still beautifully soft.

    • Which eBay ones do you get? Would love a link if you have one handy :)

      • Not ebay - but I can recommend the target 1000 TC sheets if you don't want to fork out a huge amount. They are $140 full price for a set of queen (flat, fitted and 2 PCs) and can be found at least a couple of times a year on sale at 50% off. Not the most amazing quality, but they feel luxurious and comfortable, and will last a good 3 years.

thread count does not equal thread count, unless you are comparing it correctly (e.g. per square cm or per square inch)

I have sheets which are 1000TC from COTD which are garbage and some 500TC sheridan which are good.

      • The reason I buy Sheridan on sale is because I can count on the quality. I've been burned a couple of times buying online so now I won't take the gamble.

For example previously bought 1000TC sheets online and they are not soft and so heavy I really struggle to get them on the clothesline when wet. Also bought Canningvale towels from a "one day" sale site (can't remember which one)and even after 5 washes they dropped lint everywhere. Looked like I threw a box of tissues into the washing machine. I've stopped using them because I'm sick of cleaning up the mess.

      • agreed. a long time ago, you could still reliably think of a higher threadcount as higher quality. not so much now that the marketing people got their hands on it. google for articles that debunk this myth. things like the type of cotton and tightness of the weave make a lot of difference. you can buy 500tc or higher sheets from discount stores which are pretty crap.
that said, sheridan quality is nice but expensive unless you've got bargains like this.

    • I can't understand why they are so expensive,

They're Sheridan - good quality fabrics and well made and finished. Well worth spending a little extra when you can get it for prices like this.

  • Picked up a quilt and a couple of pillows! Nice.

  • FYI This applies to brick and mortar outlets as well but they may not have all of the stock. I picked up 500TC sheets and a quilt but they didn't have the quilt cover I was after because they were "not allowed" to sell that…whatever. Another thing is the silly games with the pricing, eg for a sheet set:

    Price 1: Website 'full-retail-that-no-one-in-their-right-mind-would-pay' price = $329.95
Price 2: Walk in store and sticker price is $169.95
Price 3: Check out for $99 and the receipt says original price $244.95
    Price 4: Actual price paid = $99

    • they didn't have the quilt cover I was after because they were "not allowed" to sell that…

Which one? It sounds to me as though the staff member was keeping it aside for themselves. The local store here sells everything, at whatever the going price is at the time. Nothing is excluded from the sales.

You could always try calling one of the other stores. They will do postage.

  • If anyone is after a King Size Leander doona cover, message me. I previously inadvertently bought 2.

Went into the Mount Gravatt store to see if I could buy what I was after instead of waiting for a delivery and found they had heaps of stock that wasn't on the website. Ended up spending $500 but I got over $1500 worth of stuff :)

    Great deal, thanks for posting!

  • I was very disappointed to find that the towels are not Sheridan brand but "Pop by Sheridan", clearly a lesser tier offshot, made in Pakistan. Nowhere on the website was this mentioned, it was clearly advertised as Sheridan, and Sheridan only. A strong case for false advertising if there ever was one.
