  • Very tempting

  • So this is just the unit without a HDD yes?

  • That is correct, this is the unit without a Hard Drive. There is a Dual T441 DVB-T Tuner included though.

    It is possible to add a Hard Drive on the site, for installation by our technicians prior to shipping.

    • you should probably add that in the main add up top…

  • Cant this play H.264/AVC? I am looking for a unit that can play *.m2ts (H.264) files (produced by panasonic HD videocams)

  • Will it play x264 Matroska files?

    Hi Surm,
    This unit plays a range of files. For full details, please check out http://www.eljomedia.com.au/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=D…

    Divx/Xvid are compatible. H.264 are not at this stage as it is High Definition to 1080i.

    Cheers.

    The same above goes for the Matroska. Not available on any player that is 1080i. Most readily used formats are compatible with this unit though.

    It is very tempting.
    I have been using an old model TVix media player for years and am generally very happy (occasionally some movie files don't work) with its operation quality.

    But after researching HD STB/PVR online for a while, I just bought a Strong SRT 5440U at Betta Electrical for $249 (actually this is a sale price which ends TODAY!) yesterday in Sydney. I quickly tested how it works at home and so far very happy.

    The catalog link above doesn't explain much about its features so this link may be helpful;

    yes, this is not twin HD tuner model but I am ok with it because I am not a heavy TV watcher.
    If not this Strong 5440U model, then I would have seriously considered this TVix model….
