Myer One shopping credits to redeem $20 reward

As you may (or may not) know, Myer are about to issue $20 Myer One Reward cards if you have accumulated 2000 points or more by the end of this month. If you only have 1800 points, you need to spend another $100 for those 200 points.

But does anyone know or has tried to purchase say $210 worth of stuff to get those extra points, then return to store for a refund after getting the $20 rewards?

  • They will probably give you a Return Gift Card worth $210 (or whatever you spent), not give you cash or credit back. Then they won't have to worry about refunding your Myer One points.

On your original receipt it does print a message about you earning Myer One points on the transaction. So they can tell by reading the receipt you used your Myer One & earned points on the purchase. Whether they will care enough to make a fuss depends on who serves you I guess. As I said, the probably won't give you cash back anyway so in that case there's no issue for them to consider.

One time I had a Myer Return card worth several hundred & when I spent it I didn't get the Myer One message on my receipt. I asked the cashier if she hadn't scanned my Myer One & she said she had but you don't get the points when you pay with those. Whoever made the original purchase would have received the Myer One points.

Also remember they don't send those rewards cards out until a month after the end of the quarter. So you won't get it until August.

    • Do the points reset after this quarter? So in July, our accounts Will show 0 points ? So as long as my account shows >2000 points by end of June, the rewards card should register in my account?
