I am SICK TO DEATH of Coles/Woolworths just constantly putting sugar!! sugar!! sugar!! on special.
Its slowly teaching us and our children that eating this kind of crap (and half price Red Rock Deli Chips) every day is normal behaviour. When its not. Its killing us and making us FAT.
Normally, if this sort of stuff is in the house, it gets eaten, lets not kid ourselves, they don't in reality become occasional treats. It just leads to more and more cravings for sugar.
For instance, as long as I have been buying it….Coles and Woolies have never ever put this on special, let alone a half price sale.

Ok, I'll shut up now. But you gotta admit, it is FRUSTRATING?

The majority of healthy products are not branded like bakery/vegetables/fruit/meat.

The rest are boring or have low margins and wouldn't motivate anyone to go down to Woolworths to purchase.

Blame the customers not the supermarket.

      • Hmm interesting…but I wouldn't categorize almost any bakery product as "healthy".

And, if Woolworths offered free range eggs, or genuine wheat free rye bread, or veges and meat or nuts and seeds etc, at heavily discounted prices, I for one would be VERY motivated to head to Woolies and stock up.

Sadly, it just doesn't happen very often. Its true, there may be low margins on these products, but if they are willing to cop a "loss" on most of the more processed foods, like cereal and up and go's and chips and icecream… why cant they do it on the healthy stuff occasionally too?

        • free range eggs don't have much margin in them

Your basically asking for a discount on milk.

  • Try Aldi's Utopia, they are similar to Magnum but better choclolate and better ice cream… and always $3.99 for box of 4 :-)
