This sells for $89.95 on eBay and $100 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/GO-PUCK-5X-Ultra-lightweight-Lifestyle…

Of interest to me is the claim you can charge the battery while charging a phone or camera.

Two USB outputs, one 1A the other 2A.

Postage free if spending over $100.

  • I am expecting a few comments about cheaper no name or Chinese chargers.
I think this is one device, I would rather spend a bit extra for a quality product.

Please ensure you are comparing similar features

    2 USB ports
    1A and 2A ports
Charge Through Technology (Charge GO PUCK and your device at the same time)
    Light weight and pocket size

"possible to hook this up in my car to power my crash cam when parked. (Hopefully)"

Not recommended when parking under scorching sun.

Good point. Not currently thinking about heat issues here in Melbourne.

      • I've thought of doing this aswell mate but you'd have to mount it to a very low spot on the car but you can also hook up a small USB fan to it.

I've got a design idea I'm going to attempt this summer. That being said I have a 4G WiFi modem in the car and the battery in that has survived 2 Sydney summers.

  • Stupid question I'm sure, but what does the 5x stand for?

    • +2

At first glance I was wondering the same….. But no, it's just one!

      • Ok. Thanks, good to see I'm not the only one.

    • +1

It's the model. There is a 3X and a 5X. I think it represents the ammount of times it can change your phone or device.

      • +2

Yep. I did try to cover that in the description. 5x can charge an iPhone 5 time. The 3x can charge an iPhone 3 times.

FYI the 5x can charge a go pro 8 times.

Buy one and Go Puck yourself

  • @dharlem39 I'm glad I'm not the only one.

  • I pulled the trigger and bought one. Had good reviews and this is a really good price.

  • +1

There is no way that this can charge the iPhone 5x. Bs.

    • I am suss about this also. However, I would believe these claims more than the claims on the Chinese no name eBay products.

      • +1

They can always fall back on charging the Go pro x5

  • I'm in, gonna buy me some.

6600 mah… maximum = 1.5x of full charge cycle ONLY. Its a weak battery. Spend less and get xiaomi/romoss 10400mah.

    • The Romoss looks nice, but quite a bit larger
Dimensions: L138W62H21mm for the Romoss. @ 250 grams

L76W76H25.4 for the Go Puck. @ 170 grams. May be more pocket friendly.

    • How so? Isn't the iPhone 5 battery 1500 milliamps? So it should do 4 full charges at least.

      • That's not how these batteries work. They need excess capacity to push out power. I would say 3 to 3 1/2 max. Not bad really.

        • Not to mention the conversion loss from 3.7V to 5V USB and back to 3.7/3.8V in the phone. It could maybe half charge an iPhone 5 times

    What a silly comment.

Why don't you wire your dash cam to your CAR battery?

    • +3

The issue is a flat battery if doing this for an extended time. I prefer to not mess with the car. Also, if you wire in properly with drain protection the cost would be more than this battery.

      • even with drain protection, you WILL need a override switch to turn the cam off on periods you need to go on long vacations…eg 3 mths.

While its parked? Now that's a silly comment

    • Most common hit and run is in shopping centre car parks. Happened to me last year.

      That is a silly comment.

  • Anyone is ordering from Melbourne CBD?

Cheaper shipping if buying through ebay:
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=371053…

    • Got mine today, but it was shipped in a size 2 jiffylite padded bag. The product packaging was crushed but luckily the puck survived.
The packaging says it supports Iphone 5, but there is no lightning cable adaptor.
