Johnnie Walker Green Label

Hi guys, I've been looking for Johnnie walker green label, but I can't find any. I know it's been discontinued but I've also heard that if you look hard enough, you may be lucky enough to come across a bottle or two.

Is there anyone out there who knows where I can get my hands on one? I'm in Sydney metro area if that helps and am hoping to spend a 'sensible' amount.

    • Yeah. It's got about dozen hits but when I call them, they are all out of stock and not planning to get anymore.

try a bottle of Bushmills 10yo if you are looking for a very tasty easy to drink single malt or Chivas 18yo for a nice blended.

        • Seems like the more I drink the longer my list of 'things to try' just keeps getting longer

  • In that price range there are so many quality Whiskeys. Why settle just on JW?

    • Got any suggestions?

Glenfiddich, Dimple, Ardbeg are 3 I'd recommend trying.

Thanks. I've tried several Glenfiddichs and one Ardbeg. They are very good. I haven't had a Dimple, so I'll put that on my list.

Because of its awards, I'm also keeping my eye out for a Sullivan's Cove French Oak too. Some good quality Japanese Whiskeys would be nice too. I'm still interesting in trying a bottle of JW Green.

  • I've been looking for a Green for a while now too with no luck… From what I understand demand has far exceeded supply of aged whiskies and the resulting global shortages mean a lot of the distillers are getting rid of listing the age on the bottle - stock up while you can before they are all phased out! I think Green was 15 year single malt. Have you tried the Johnnie Walker Gold 18 year old - it's a blend and is a great drop. You can still find it if you look - aldi online has it for $79.99, or nicks.com.au at $99.99 or $130 at worldofwhisky.com.au. Everyone else has the "Gold Reserve" for about $10 cheaper which has no age statement so is a blend of much younger whiskies. Good luck! Please post here if you manage to find any green!

    • Thanks, and I just saw your deal post for the jw gold. Good luck. Keep Walking.

  • Goodluck, I've been looking for a while and can't seem to find anything. A few eBay users have bottles listed for $350+ so I guess they are getting harder and harder to find. Would have thought all liquor retailers would have had them deleted for long enough now not to have any stock but would love to be proved wrong.

  • I found 2 in stock here for $249 each.

    • Thanks for the heads up.. bought the last two bottles :)

  • I can assist with finding green label if you someone is still keen and unable to locate

  • Its back on shelves now in limited supply. A 10 yr limited edition, still hard to find.

    • Thanks. Do you know where I can get a bottle?

      • No, I cant find any myself yet. However there are some threads over on whirlpool.net.au where people have found some in their local bottle shops. Id just shop around and ask each retailer.

    Hi Guys,

Dan murphy's have just released stock - $69 limited quantities available.

    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_903258/johnnie-walk…

note: This is the newly released version with updated packaging so if you're a collector, different to the old one.

    • Thanks Samualli17! I've gone and bought a few bottles already.

On a side note, I've received private messages from eight different Ozbargainers in the past week saying, "I just so happened to find an old bottle of JWG sitting around in my bar and could sell it to you for $ _ _ _ dollars." All prices have been >$300…

      Hah! Just saying…

      • Niceeee! I too picked up a few, the guys at Dan's threw in the green carton they came in, love it :D

Haha yep they're out there alright, crazy what some of them are going for. The old pure malts are grossly inflated! Expect the prices to drop though when word catches that there's a bit of stock floating around XD
