28 Degrees Mastercard - now platinum

Hello

I got a letter in the mail recently saying the 28 Degrees card was being 'upgraded' to a platinum Mastercard.

The only difference I see is that you can now use some telephone concierge service. But, when I was travelling Europe recently quite a few stores, especially in the Netherlands, like at the Rijksmuseum shop, had signs saying they didn't accept platinum Mastercards.

Anyone else see problems that are going to arise from this? Any benefits to the concierge service?

  • Isn't platinum just a 28D marketing term?

Just marketing. a way to encourage extra use and make people feel important.

I bet you'll find usage (and uptake) has gone right down after the cash withdrawal loophole was changed, and they're trying to recover from that.

Concierge service is useless to me. If you have access to a phone overseas, you probably have access to google, making their services redundant
