LED TV

Hey guys, I am planning to buy a new TV this weekend from JB because they offer 15% off.

Would you get Sony KDL55w800b or Panasonic TH-55S700A?

Thank you for your inputs?

  • Panasonic if you want a good TV.

Sony if you want to impress idiots with an overpriced pile of junk.

    • +1 re sony junk … all show, no go.

LG would be my first pick. Also for durability and great warranty service (if needed) Hisense it a good bet also. Op has a few to choose from :-)

Make sure that what you choose is 100hz minimum if buying a set larger than 32".

  • The W800B Is actually a pretty great TV, has phenomenally low input lag if you plan on doing any gaming on it (and 4:4:4 support), and, despite Sony's reputation for ridiculously overpriced TVs, with the 15% off it's only $85 more than the Panny (which is also pretty good) and the same price as the LG 6500/Samsung 6400. I'd actually grab the 800B if I was in the market.

That said, it's a PVA panel not IPS, so if you plan to do any sort of side-on viewing or wide angle viewing its definitely not the TV for you. The advantage of the PVA over the IPS however is that you get deeper blacks.
