Help Required- Taxi receipt

Ok people- first- I admit that I was stupid.
The taxi receipt got a bit crumbled, and being the perfectionist, I thought a light press would do the trick.
Now I have a taxi receipt which is 75% black.
I need to claim it as a work related travel expense- it is 107.23- not an amount that I can just forget about, being an Oz Bargainer.
I can make out that it is from Taxi's combined, can just make out the taxi driver id, and part of receipt id at the bottom.
Paid using credit card.
Can clearly see Airport to Home on the receipt.
Amount is visible as well- just about.
Tried calling Taxi Combined customer service, and they are closed Sunday.
Please suggest further course of action.
How easy is it to request for a duplicate receipt from Taxi Combined?
Anyone had any experience?
Kind regards,
Varun Pant

  • If you want to claim it on your tax, just write the details down (and even attach Credit Card statement) to support the transaction. As an added measure, record the item in a diary.
A lot of receipts tend to fade, so your problem is not uncommon.
Don't worry about getting a duplicate.

    • Hi Baysew,
      Thanks for your advice.
The credit card transaction should appear in a day or two.
And usually, all the credit card transactions on the statement have name of the taxi company clearly.
But, I have to submit to accounts, as I am a contractor.
(Will ask the boss, as he is the one who approves it.)
The best would have been a duplicate copy of the tax invoice.
      Thanks again,
      Varun

  • Just photocopy your credit card statement, with the half black reciept. Write on the front where it was from-to and date. Then hand it in.

    • +1

and you can also look up their ABN online using their trading name in case you need it as well. So now you have the complete info

and take a pic of the half black receipt coz it's only gonna deteriorate more
