Question regarding overseas warranty

Hi Guys,

I dont have much experience in regards to warranty claims.

Ive seen the Vitamix several times and LOVE IT, but was always put off by the $800 'show special' price.

Ive just seen this deal http://slickdeals.net/f/7035600-vitamix-blender-certified-re…

Im going to the us so could buy it and bring it back with 5 year warranty. Would this warranty apply to Aus?

  • are you after thermomix or vitamix…they are quite different things

The Vitamix does everything a Thermoix can do except for cook foods and make hot meals. It can however, make hot soups

ie vitamix is just a really expensive soup maker

The US warranty and US consumer laws will apply. You'll need to cover the cost of shipping the item there and back (or you could fly back with it).

You could contact the local distributor and see if they would provide local service: http://www.vitamix.com.au/contact/warranty
Don't expect it to be free (you didn't buy through them, they have no obligation to you).

You'll also likely need to buy a stepdown transformer to use it with Australian mains power. If you're going to the effort of buying a nice blender from overseas, don't skimp out and get a dodgy cheap transformer - the damage done won't be covered by the warranty.
