Discount Buffets on the Gold Coast - $15 Lunch at Food Fantasy Jupiters Casino, $9.95 Lunch at Kirra Pizza Hut

Visiting family on the Gold Coast at the moment and have been to these two buffets over the last couple of days (my folks somehow love buffets). Probably not worthwhile posting them as "deals" as these promotions are often available. However might generate some good discussions on where else can you find discounted buffets on the Gold Coast.

Food Fantasy @ Jupiters Casino

Food Fantasy is on the ground floor of Jupiters Casino and its range of food is not bad, although I probably wouldn't pay its usual price of $30 per head for lunch between 11:30AM and 2:30PM. For the month of July however, their members are able to get 50% off lunch on Monday & Tuesday. At $15 all you can eat it's pretty good value for a buffet lunch inside a hotel. Membership is free and you don't have to be a Gold Coast resident.

We went there on Tuesday and it was packed probably due to the promotion. So it's a good idea to queue up 10 minutes prior. Members also get to watch free movies on Monday for the month of July (save $5 or $8 for 3D) and free coffee in the lounge.

Although we are members, interestingly we have never received any marketing material regarding to their 1/2 price buffet in July. When my wife asked the membership service desk lady, she said that marketing mails are sent out to "targeted members" depending on their spending level. No wonder we never received any promo from them as we only used our Jupiters membership cards for their free coffee.

Pizza Hut @ Kirra Beach

They were everywhere 20 years ago but Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants are pretty rare now. Going to The Works for a pig-out was a great treat when I was in high school (all you can eat pizza for $6 back then).

I was happy to discover that Pizza Hut at Kirra beach still has a dine-in restaurant, and they still do Works buffet lunch for $12.95 Monday to Friday. You can however get a coupon fron Shop A Docket for $9.95 pizza buffet (save $3 per person). Valid until August 7, but I know they push out new coupons all the time.

Any cheap buffets worth trying on the Gold Coast?

  • Thanks for the info Scotty. Handy for anyone heading to the GC for a break.
There are always good eating deals around but mostly only known to locals.
I wonder if a "eating out" forum would be worthwhile for OzB? It would allow people to give tips on their local hot spots for dining… not necessarily "bargains" but places of good everyday value and most importantly with food… the quality.

When I travel around I seem to run into all the bad places.. :-(

    • Also on the Gold Coast, there is usually a shopper docket for "4 winds" revolting restaurant (sorry, I mean revolving, not revolting). Its still a bit pricey with the docket, but kids like spinning around.

      • Yes I went to 4 winds a few times when I was a teen (decades ago). Good view (before Q1 & Soul were there), but expensive.

    • Eatability and urbanspoon have ratings on local places - but don't cover any special deal/ prices

  • none of these work any more
    close thread pls
