this has been around since last year.. I'm probably wrong but i was led to believe that you needed to be a uni student to receive this offer?
I'm not a uni student and signed up fine. To be honest I think it's a scammy way to get people to open a new bank account - although the discounts they give to members are sometimes pretty reasonable. They had 40% off Audio Technica headphones recently for members which is decent.
You're right it was aimed at the uni student market. Was only introduced in Feb this year though to coincide with new uni year & students starting classes.
