Is this a good qi?. And cheapest?

    • Haven't used the Kogan one, but I bought this one from ebay for $25 with charging card for an S3 earlier this year and it's still going strong…it's now $18 delivered:

      • Thanx got one

      • My eBay one looks identical to that. Was terrible with the stock n4 charger, but it's brilliant with my touchpad charger.

A friend got the official google one for his Nexus 5, as well as the Kogan one, and says the Kogan one is far superior. The google one is small and fiddly to try and line up, but the kogan one is much easier to align and charges better.

I just have ebay ones myself for my nexus 4, so have no first hand experience.

The current official charger or the older one? I thought the current one and the Nexus 5 have magnets which help align them?

        • No idea, sorry.

  • I remember seeing similar wireless charging mats on ebay for around $10, are those any different to the Kogan one? Also, can the charging mat be left plugged into the power socket 24/7 or will it still draw power?

  • Just my 2c…. It's good but
    a) bright light through the night and even my note 3 can't cover it.
    b) to small of a base and needs precise positioning, but then again…. I have the note 3.
    c) a lot bigger and superior than Google s mat.
    d) the $6 one from eBay works far better than either the koan or the Google.

Given that I have all three, the eBay one is the only one that sees light of day

Which one on ebay do you recommend?

    • Agree on the rest, but my eBay ones have been junk in comparison.

    • A link to the best note 3 charger would be nice. Any other would be hugely appreciated. Cheers.

    • Could you link to the ebay one thats good? Doesnt have to be the cheapest one. I can find that myself if I know which one youre talking about. Thanks

    • I got this one… have been using it for about two months… Hope it helps

      • My phone is very slippery (droid mini). How does the sticky thing work? Is it electromagnetic or just by friction?

        • Friction only :)

    • I can't see the light in the pictures, where is it?

  • will it charge the zerolemon batteries?

  • Bought this one a few weeks ago and it makes a constant 'clicking' noise. Seems to be a common problem with some qi chargers

  • I have a couple of these and they're really good. Only tried the other cheap eBay variety (slim rectangular shaped with rounded edges) and these are much better quality.

Small red LED light. If it bothers you on your bedside table just turn it around and have it face away from you.

Am I the only person in the world that uses black electrical tape to cover every LED in the house?

      • +1

LOL! You're not alone, I have every LED in my bedroom covered with black electrical tape. I especially hate blue LEDs, like on my Dymo LabelWriter which can only be turned off by unplugging.

      • Haha, no. That's exactly my solution too ;)

  • I've got this one. Easy to position my nexus 5 on it.

    No issues. It just works.

  • How fast does this charge a hungry phone like the S4 or Note 3, say from 20% to full?

    • about 5 hours

  • I bought this last year for my nexus 7 only to realise it doesn't work with my favorite case on. Used a thinner case and it'd work but I prefer a better case. Now it's just sitting in a box.

  • these say stuff like "for HTC" does this mean it's only good on the htc phones?

  • Can it charge through a case?

    • I bought one off Kogan in about December that looks identical. It charges through a standard rubber case just fine. I usually have a couple of notes wedged between case and phone too.

  • I bought one of these last time they came on special with free delivery.

    Charges at a decent speed.
Charges just fine though my Spigen case on my Nexus 5.
It's not picky about how it is aligned on the pad. I pretty much plonk my phone on with the majority of the phone on the base and it works without fail.

Very happy with it at this price point.
