Hi im looking at getting a new 32" tv for the bedroom. I tried out the latest Aldi Bauhn 32" but its horrible and going back thanks to their 60 day guarantee… Im looking to spend no more than $350 and I did a quick bit of shopping today and from what I can see the Samsung UA32H4000 currently $349 at Dick Smith seems the best current deal without any haggling? Obviously most of the big name stores will beat that just by asking… Other options were the LG 32LB563B which the lowest I saw today (only dicks, myer and JB) was $379 (I know dick had the 20% off ebay store deal a couple of weeks ago which made it around $300 which makes me reluctant to spend over that for it now!)
One of the main problems with the Aldi screen I have now is that its edge lit… Now this is my first edge lit tv and I often use the tv for music to go to sleep to using foxtel music channels which black out the screen but this thing has this horrible bright glow around the edge even with all the settings set way low to try and counter act it… The tv replaced an old Samsung 23"? LCD I got free with my last large plasma screen which works great as far as going nice and dark for night time… I might add that the standard def foxtel broadcast looks horrible on the Aldi tv as well (worse than normal).
So im open to any suggestions… Let me know if you know of any decent deals for screens around that size if you know of any better than what ive found.
