[Price Error] Lego 10557 Duplo XXL 200pc Box $34 Target Camberwell (Vic) - Save $55

Moved to Forum: Original Link

It was a dark and stormy night.

Weary Tom staggered downstairs after an epic struggle with 2.5 year old Lisa at her bedtime. Muttering expletives under his breath, he swung the fridge door open for an ice cold beer. Nothing quite like an ice cold beer on a dark and stormy night.

Tom clutched his precious cargo as he dragged his feet through the darkened shadows of the living room. Tom screamed in pain as he tripped over a Lego minefield cleverly constructed by his arch nemesis, Lisa. His scream was punctuated by a crack of lightning that flashed outside the shuttered window. And in the rumble of thunder that followed, Tom swore he could hear Lisa's maniacal laughter. ..

You, too, can share Tom's pain by purchasing this fun Lego Duplo XXL box with 200 pieces. $34 at Target Camberwell (I saw about 8) and save a hefty $55. It is normally $89 and is on sale in the Target Toy catalogue for $69 so it must have been further reduced. Perhaps it is at all stores.

Anyway, being a fairly avid buyer of Lego, I thought this to be worthy enough to try my hand at posting for the first time.

lol that was me :-) on my way there now

  • :( just rang and they said sold out? :(

  • Saw them on back wall minutes ago….

  • He lied :(

  • Great post. ROFL (on lego)

  • Scanning at $69 at fountain gate store. (Rang up, they searched for it and they actually went and scanned it for me to double check.). Comments on the target facebook page also say that Mornington store sold them at $34 earlier today, but when the girls friend tried to buy them later they scanned at the higher price. Was anyone successful at any other stores?

    • also interested to know!!

    • They scanned at $69 at Camberwell also but the lady just marked them down to the ticketed price…..

      • Did they know to mark it down or did you have to tell them

  • “We're from the planet Duplo, and we're here to…destroy you!”

I'm just back from Chadstone target and bought two at $34 each. They did scan at $69 each but when I showed the picture (from OP) and the lady, who might be a supervisor, checked the label and told me that's the old label from 06/6. I told her the picture was taken around 1.5hrs ago from camperwell and she double-checked the label and changed her mind saying the date would be ending by 06/8. Then she give me $34. Happy!

  • Still around 6-8 at Chadstone when I left around 9:30!

I spoke to the online store and they done a stock search he also said all targets will honour the price of $34 show them the picture and they will change the price at the counter

    • Glad to hear that all can now share the $34 joy.

    • Will the online store match the $34 price?

Ticket price at Chirnside park is $34

    Confirmed at target CBD

Thanks pekkle10. Price matched at Target Melbourne city with the great photo :-) They had to call up Target Camberwell to confirm, and was advised that it was a price-override item that has yet to show up in their system. There were about 20+ units left as of 8:30am.

It's a pricing error. Prices were uploaded incorrectly yesterday but have now been fixed to show the catalogue price of $69.

    • Where did you get the info?

  • +1

Thanks OP! Bought at MEL City, had to argue with the staff and the supervisor as they wouldn't match the price, ended up speaking to the store manager for approval.

  • I was refused a price match. I asked the store to contact customer service and that was what was explained. They will not honour the $34 price

    • Which store was it?

    • Same thing happened at Target Southland too..

  • why is lego so expensive?

    • +1

because it is the whole danish economy and that's 5 and a half million mouths to feed.

    • Do they have more at Camberwell? Is it still ticketed as $34?

      • +1

None when I went this morning

    • I don't know I put them away last night on hold guy thought I was crazy

  • Went to a Target store and they wouldn't price match. They rang up Camberwell store and they said that they printed out the wrong price, it should be $69.

  • Is there anywhere that will still do this price now? I'm way out in the country and was hoping for a store transfer, a little bit sad that it was an error

  • Nabbed up 2 from my local target, just in time!

    Thanks OP

    • hi, mate which store was that, cheers

  • There was one left at Waverly Gardens as of 1pm today :) Scanned at 69 but checkout honored the 34 when i showed the photo above

Edit - as in there was STILL one left after i bought one - if anyone is local to there

    BTW - thanks pekkle10

  • I bought one at Melbourne CBD at 5:30pm. There were at least a dozen left. Take it to counter. Tell them to call store manager on ext 333 (probably sonny) and ask him to approve the $34 price. Will be easier if you also take a printout of the picture or show them your phone. Just helped my son make the giraffe!

Just curious, what was the downvote for? I verified a location where I was able to get the bargain and the steps to do it? Would you have preferred that I made my son the elephant rather than the giraffe?

It was me, that was an accident. I was going to click up vote, clicked the wrong one as my screen was so small on my mobile. The vote was removed and it wouldn't let me vote again…… Apologies….

        • +1

          +1 for explaining :) hehe

      • +2

I would've preferred the elephant, just sayin'

        • Thanks for the explanation Letsgetagooddeal… and OneMama, that elephant trunk looks damn tricky!

        • not practiced in the art of Duplo building? Rookie mistake. I feel a challenge coming on

That is the nicest in-store photo I have ever seen on OzB. Did you go to the lighting section and get a few tungsten lamps and set up a shoot?

  • I went to Chirnside Park at 9.30am and they wouldn't sell it for less than $69. They explained it was a price error and only valid for yesterday.

    Doh!
