Bushwalking/Hikes around Sydney... what's your favourite?

I'm always keen for a nice hike on the weekends to get out of the city and away from computers and work. Not much beats an incredible lookout, some fresh air, and a good workout in and around this awesome country.

So who has some recommendations for the best hike/bushwalk!? Any length and any difficulty welcome, just mention it in your comment. Outside of Sydney is fine as well…but preferably something within a train ride or medium-length drive (i.e Blue Mountains).

Some of my favourites…

1) Coogee to Bondi

2) Spit Bridge to Manly

3) Ruined Castle (Blue Mountains)

  • Bundeena to Little Marley (but don't fall off the cliff ;)

    • +1, a lot of good tracks all through the park & adjoining beaches

A walk around Thredbo/Perisher before winter in interesting if you want to see lots of wildlife

  • About 3-4 hours drive south from Sydney is Wombeyan Caves

or a little closer to the city is Jenolan Caves and surrounding walks

  • Definitely agree with Jzdhgkd's recommendation. Although, The Coastal Walk will see you do the Bundeena to Little Marley and further south also. You can camp the night and finish the day after. You can also access via public transport too!

  • Bundeena to Otford - my favorite. Can be done in one day if you're fit. Here it is: http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/royal-national-park/the-…
