Heavily Discounted Products for Employees of Microsoft Resellers

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I'm not sure this counts as a deal as such, as it does require a little work.

Essentially, Microsoft has a training program available online for employees of a large number of retailers across Australia. You complete training modules to accumulate points, which, after two months of membership, gain you 'Expert' status, giving you the largest discount level on their rewards program.

I'm not sure of which stores are eligible to have employees sign up, though it worked when I was employed at Target, and carried over to JB Hi-Fi.

I'd say it took me around 4 hours of active involvement to build up enough points to get to 'Expert', which, at the pay rate of most of those working in retail, would have to save you around $100 to be worthwhile, which it can do.

With the points you've accumulated (plus some real money) you can purchase items from their 'rewards'.

Some examples include:
XBOX One with Kinect & Titanfall: $399.99 (+3000 points)
XBOX One Wireless Controller with Play and Charge Kit: $39.99 (+1500 points)
XBOX 360 consoles: $59.99 +800 points (250GB 'E'), or $39.99 +600 points (4GB 'S' with Kinect)
12 months XBOX Live Gold: $19.99 (+1000 points)

Some relatively modern games for both XBONE and 360 are reduced to between $10-$40, and there are PC accessories on huge discount, too.

This post should be in forum and not as a deal.

    Move to forum, please!

I wasn't sure, because it did provide discounted products with free shipping.

Also, this has been reported as affiliate/referral, though I am not providing any referral links, and am just a member of the site, nor am I compelled to sell any Microsoft products. I do not gain any advantage from posting this.

EDIT: Why has this also been reported as a targeted offer? I understand that it's more suitable in the forums, but I neither work for the company, nor do I believe this is a targeted offer…

  • There's quite a large number of IT Enterprise companies there that don't directly sell Microsoft at a retailer level… hmmm.

I think it's any company that deals with Microsoft at all, as it has retail training manuals as well as implementation guides. Regardless, the rewards program applies to any employee of one of the many companies on their list.

      • Thanks for posting this :)

  • I'm trying to sign-up and it keeps saying failed to validate last name, anyone else having this issue?
