Destiny PS4/XB1 $69.98 with $10 Pre-Order at Dick Smith

I had been waiting to see what price Dick Smith would have with their usual $10 down $10 off on Destiny.

Not as good as the Infamous Second Son for $55 or Last of Us Remastered for $50 (which I think were bargains) which is why I didn't post this as a deal but this appears to be best price at Australian retail for now and you never know they might do an Infamous…

FWIW I played the beta on both platforms and reckon you can't go wrong with either. I noticed some differences but I thought gameplay was identical.

  • I hope they're going to do that for LOTR Shadow of Mordor

  • Not sure what games qualify and I have read elsewhere that it is applicable to all pre-orders (10 down 10 off that is) at Dick Smith.

However it would only be worth doing if they are going to sell the game at less than retail on release which they usually do.

From memory they have been doing this since GTAV and in addition to the other games mentioned above they did it with Wolfenstein.

I think individual stores are allocated a certain amount of stock so they can "sell out" as I discovered when trying to get LoU for $50 from my local DS so if you are happy with the price probably best to get in early.

  • Sadly the Limited Edition seems to be EB only. With this you are technically getting it a bit cheaper if you buy this, plus the DLC (which is included in the LTD ED), but then your also not getting the EB pre order bonus, or the ltd edition bonuses etc. LTD includes a ship, a ghost casing and an emblem, the 2 dlc and pre order from eb gets you a faster bike (Rather than having to buy it ingame). Also some physical stuff which I dont really care about too much.

The expansion pass (with the first 2 dlc) will likely cost 35-40 dollars AUS by itself. (source http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/7/5877525/destiny-collectors-e…)

    • Yes they seem to be getting more and more exclusives but maybe that's my imagination.

I had been wondering what the DLC might be worth for this reason as I was tempted by the Limited Edition but for $130 you could almost buy another new release.

Interestingly the Digital Guardian Edition from the Playstation Store which includes the the Limited Edition's DLC and in game extras costs the same as the physical Limited Edition.

Just checked the DLC is $35 on the US PS Store so A$40 seems likely.
